When I first heard news of this I was a little confused, but that was the fleshly side of me. Then I started seeing some of the bizarre reactions from Christians about this. On the surface I am confused why Ellen Degeneres would invite a Christian Contemporary singer onto her show, though as some people have pointed out, Ellen has been known to show more Christ-like behavior than many Christians. Though, at least for now, her motivations make those actions in vain. On the other hand God can use anything toward His perfect will. So, what are the reactions from this community? Are we joining in on the hypocritical backlash, or are we praising God that his message was broadcast to millions of people, despite the original intent of the host of the show?

I won't ,plenty of chaplains ,saved men in the hedonistic military.I can't call her out
 
First, Lauren is rising fast in both Christian and Secular radio stations. Her music is phenomenal and powerful.

I think the more people that hear her the more she can expose them to Christ.

Red is another band we could discuss. They tour with some pretty anti-christ bands, like Bring me the Horizon etc.
 
First of all I don't have a clue who the singer is since I never heard of her, but,.. I don't think that you necessarily have to agree with somebody's life style to think that they're funny and be entertained by them. Not only that, but Ellen's catchphrase is be kind to one another and I think that bit of advice we could all use on this forum.

I have heard Ellen is known to invite Christians onto her show only to either kick them off or humiliate them. I do not know this first hand, as I rarely will actually watch the show, merely catch clips here and there on youtube.

As I mentioned in the OP, she does do good things, but unfortunately her motivations are misplaced. Not that God can't use these things toward His own glory

I have never known Ellen to kick anybody off her show who has claimed to be a Christian (especially since she claims to be one herself) but my guess is that if it's true it's probably because of the fact that she's a lesbian and she's afraid of all the backlash that she would get from them.
