My name is Duane Washum. In 1978, I was initiated, passed, and raised into Freemasonry. In 1983, I was Worshipful Master of the lodge I was once a member of.

But in January of 1984 - Friday the 13th to be exact:) - I was convicted by the Holy Spirit, I repented and prayed to God for His forgiveness, and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Since that time, I have been witnessing for the Lord about the incompatibilities between Freemasonry and the Christian faith. At present, I am Director of Ex Masons For Jesus.

Welcome to the forums! You should be in for some good discussion with that background. :)

Hi Brother Duane and welcome. Many years ago I had a friend go to church with me and our pastor preached on the subject of Freemasonry for the first time that i'm aware of. After the meeting, my friend Carl asked why I had told the pastor about him, but I didn't and it really struck a chord that resonated throughout him. Not long after that he was baptized. God bless your work in Jesus' name. :wave

wow this is a great testimony. There is a lot of abuse which goes on in Freemasonry. Not sure if your order was one of those but here in Canada Freemasons have been linked to the Illuminati and other cults.

My wife and I went to Black Creek Museum Village, Toronto, and there is an old building there with a meeting place of the freemasons where they used to have strange ceremonies. Someone said the idea was, take a good man and make a better one of him. (But this idea is without the Spirit of Christ in conversion, of course.)

Blessings.

Yeah... without Jesus for sure. When someone enters the Masons they originally think it's just a harmless secret society.. but as they move up levels they have to take more & more oaths until they reach the top levels in which they dedicate themselves to lucifer. Quite frightening.

Seems like a lot of prominent Anglophone Canadians have been Masons. I'm glad to say I've never been approached by them (and I'm rather unlikely to be, either...)

Not sure when Masonry was opened to women in Canada...

Blessings.

And false.

It's not something I want to get involved in, at any rate. And I'm not likely to be touched by Masons with a barge-pole, either.

masonry only has three levels. the levels above that are for the elks, the shriners and such like.

The first three degress of masonry are called the Blue Lodge. Most masons don't take degrees beyond that, but those who wish to do so can take degrees in the two main branches of Scottish Rites and York Rites. There are other appendant bodies, such as Shriners, and Eastern Star for women, but Elks are not part of masonry.

I wouldn't encourage anyone to be part of masonry if they have doubts about it, or if they really think it's evil. It's not for everyone, and if someone feels it would threaten his faith he should stay away from it. Faith in Christ is too important to mess with.

The reason no mason has approached you to join is that we're prohibited from doing that. A man has to express an interest first. You may have seen this sign 2B1ASK1.

How I got involved was hearing two friends discussing the lodge, asking them to tell me what masonry was all about. I knew my dad was a mason and it was important to him, but I hadn't thought about it for myself. They said "If you're interested we'll arrange for an open house tour of the lodge and tell you about what we do." I was forty years old at the time.

Say mark the member that started this thread said he "Left Freemasonry to follow Christ" why are you suggesting anyone should join? :chin

I have no idea what you're talking about. I not doing any recruiting here, I'm just countering your conspiracy nonsense.

I have to say, I'm having second thoughts about this forum. I never in my life thought there could be so many Christians wallowing around in the swamp of conspiracy theories as I find here. I feel like I've wandered onto the set of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"

Your not getting it mark the organization you belong to forbids you to say Jesus Christ "Is The Great Architect" Tell me I'm wrong and I'll leave it be.

You're wrong!.

Now leave

As this is a welcome thread, it's probably best left to welcomes. I think there's a freemason thread floating around elsewhere.

And false
I'm not sure what you're saying. The information is not false according to the many men who have come out of Freemasonry and admitted to it.

farouk ..lol.. Freemasonry is not open to women. The Order of the Eastern Star is the division for women.
