She's Verna's grand-daughter, and she seems to be stuck in darkness. And poverty, too...not a good combination, ever.

I ask that you pray for her. At this point, Verna's closer to her than anyone else in the family. She provides some $$$ now and then, lots of emotional support, some Scripture, as she feels led. Some local churches have hooked Leslie up w/ food and such when needed, and they've been good to her. Verna and I are hoping and praying that The Lord will bring her to her senses, sooner rather than later.

Thanks. :)

I add my prayers to you both for Leslie. Sometimes brother it is only when there's no lower to go we are forced to look up. If she is in Christ, God has not given up on her, and will continue to work in her life for her good. It's very hard to watch at times, but we can believe that God will never fail or forsake her.

thanks, Eugene. Its incredibly painful for Verna. Hearing about it makes me think of my own parents and my own wasted years, before The Lord brought me to genuine repentance (only 5 years ago). At one point, Leslie had a serious OD and was in the ICU for a week or so, and the downward spiral intensified after that. The Lord spared her for His reasons, and I'm thankful, but...wow. Poverty alone is rough enough, especially since she's in gov't subsidized housing and dependent on the goodwill of Christians in the area, etc. Add in unrepentant sin and the resulting darkness, and...

oh man. Just...not good. Dangerous, even. I just hope+pray The Lord will save her, soon. Thanks again. :)
