Hey John, are you still in the military?

Think of all the snipers that tower could hold :o

Oh heavens no.... :o
Why would you even think of a sniper in a church steeple?
That's a horrible thought, :crying:
No thank you. Don't want to do that.
I'd rather see a person walk up to a church and think to go in through the doors to pray, rather than climb up to the top for committing to a horrible hellish act! And even in the case of protecting from an enemy attacking, it's a sad day when people have to use churches to do such things. I pray that CHRISTIANS don't.

I'd rather think about the professions of peace and salvation from sin through Christ Jesus livng in you, in us all, that are taking place within the church. Not thinking to do the whiles of the devil, but speaking up against the whiles of the devil.

There is a minister around here who has had food drives for the poor, He climbed up to the steeple of his church and stayed up there until the quota of donations for canned and dry foods were met. Then he gave it all to those in need. Now that's what I'd rather think of! God's blessings through his people.

Anyway, sorry to have diverted off the topic of this thread..... "Lets See What We All Look Like".... but I just refused to imagine anything in the steeple of a church except a person who has good intensions.

Anyway, since this is a "share you picture of yourself thread" and I don't have any good pics of me anymore ..... here's one of Rev. Dr. David Bahr, pastor who held the steeple vigils in one of the neighborhoods near where I live. :-D

Pastor Bahr in the steeple of his church
just asking for food for the poor.... He's doing a Godly thing! :-D

Way to go pastor Bahr! :smt023 :-D

ever watch Saving Private Ryan?

I am in the army. Say i was running to grab cover/sniper position and a church was the closest thing there...I'd take it in a heartbeat...god would understand

Trust me, your thoughts about life, whats right and whats wrong quickly evade your mind when there are bullets flying all around you.

John, I understand. I did note that in cases of protecting FROM an enemy attacking that " I pray that Christians don't." I should have written I praythey don't have to do that. When you used the word sniper, I didn't at first relate it to the army straight shooter. I even mentioned after the fact... that 'in cases of..." meaning there is a difference between the one who snipes from a civilian bad guy perspective and the one who is a "straight shooter" amy personel protecting FROM an attack of the enemy. Oh forget it, I'm just a female, I don't think like a man. Just hearing the word sniper makes me think of those crazy freeway snipers that were shooting randomly at people a while back. I'm sorry. You are in active duty. I should have known you think of the word from a totally differnt perspective. I'm Sorry.

I pray that you are never having to face that type of situation. I pray for your safety and I pray for all you guys. I have such a deep respect for what you are doing to serve your country and keep the enemy at bay. Your postition is a very honorable one indeed. My utmost gratitude goes out to all the people in the armed forces in Canada, and our allies for serving in the interest of our freedom from oppressors.

God Bless you and protect you!

Nice idea, CC! (Although for some reason, I was under the impression that you looked somewhat like Bing Crosby. :-D )

Well, this is my big sister and I. I'm the one on the right with the jean jacket. This is about two years ago, but other than the fact that I have much hipper glasses, I look pretty much the same.

Yeah, great idea CC! (BTW, what's your real name?)

Craig, your a talented individual! I can't say how nice it is to put a face to the name. Same goes for handy, John and mudjosh!

For those of you who don't know why I call myself StoveBolts, take a look here!

(This was taken early last spring, and it doesn't look much different, though I"ve put new springs in, slide a link traction bars and awaiting a new driveshat... ohh the garage is a bit cleaner and the boats outside :-D )

Hey Craig :biggrin

Sorry for the late response. I couldn't find where I posted

Anyway, I finished building and installing the engine in the car two years ago and I've ran about 15 gallons of gas through it. It seems like every time I drive it, something else breaks. Last fall just after I shot that video, I took her for a spin. I was cruising around 4000 rpm in 1st (she redlines at 7000), stuck my foot to the floor and instead of breaking loose, the tires bit so hard, the traction bars bent my leaf springs which allowed excessive axle wrap and bound up the drive shaft with the rear yoke.

Bummer of it all was that the drive shaft was new :crying: and when bound up, it cracked the cap of the U-Joint causing the joint to slide off center... which of course caused the drive shaft to meet my drive shaft loop, which put a big dent in the drive shaft that hit the loop even harder.... Have you ever bent a piece of metal until it broke?... that's what happened to my drive shaft loop... :tongueuppydogeyes:

$1,000 bucks later, I had Eaton Spring (http://www.eatonsprings.com/) make me a custom set of rear springs and front coils. I also purchased Competition Engineering's Slide a Link traction bars. I havn't gotten the bill yet, but I dropped the car off at DTS this morning, (http://www.drivetrainspecialists.com/) and I'm having them replace the rear yoke, build me a new drive shaft and check the pinion angle.

The car's become a money pit not to mention all of the long hours I've got into all of the mod's... I spent $62 bucks on 36 inches of fuel line w/ associated connectors yesterday.. and I've got to assemble it :-?

My goal for this year is to actually drive it around town. Which means I've got to finish stripping all of the paint and at least get it into a moisture resistant primer so I can put the lights back on 8-)

As far as the boat, I got it out twice last year after two years of fully restoring the boat. The first time out, I didn't make it past the breaker when a sleeve came out of the head causing all of the antifreeze to drain out... Grrr! I got it back out late October and while I was anchored doing some fine tuning on the carb, the wife got sea sick :o and that was about the end of that. I'm hoping to at least take the boat out sometime in July for some summer fun :biggrin
