What do you think? Is the entire Bible for us or not?
I think we all know there are a lot of things in the Bible that were written to and for only the specific individual or group those particular words were addressed to.

But, unfortunately, many, many people claiming to "follow all of the Bible" pick and choose laws and rules from just about any old section of the book they desire........ as long as the "commands" they select fit what they want others to have to adhere to.
We can't follow ALL of the Bible, but we could say that all of the Bible is for us and not just the Jews.

WHEN ONE BECOMES A PART OF A FAMILY, HE ALSO TAKES ON THE TRADITIONS OF THAT FAMILY.

(Caps are mistake)

We have been grafted in. Abraham is also our father through inheritance.

I think we all know there are a lot of things in the Bible that were written to and for only the specific individual or group those particular words were addressed to.
Very few words were not for us.
Very specific instructions for the Apostles or for teachers, elders, deacons. Although many of their attributes should also be for us. Sorry, no Bible, but I'm sure you know the verses.

Also, I like to always remind us that Jesus coming abolished the civil and ceremonial laws of the old testament... You have heard it said....And then He corrected the law.

He did not abolish the moral law...

Oh well. OT / OC ?

Does the moon shine from within itself?
Is not the moon just reflecting light.

Right now it is not about us.

Is it ever about us?
We are a reflection of the light.
But Jesus said we are the light of the world.
The world Should see His light through us.
Does it?

Hi Dirtfarmer.
You're saying it refers to the end of time?
It could be a prefiguration of that too.
I can't speak to it, however. I'm really bad with eschatology.

Are you saying priests will exist in the New Kingdom?

hello wondering, dirtfarmer here

I am not so sure that you are "bad with eschatology". We may not see eye to eye on all the future prophecies, but we are secure on that which is necessary for salvation.

It is my belief that Exodus 19:6 is referring to the time in which the earthly kingdom will be established in which the nation of Israel will be a kingdom of priest. If the Jews had accepted the kingdom when Jesus offered it when rode into Jerusalem on that colt, and the Jews used palm branches on that day, then the church would not exist as we know it. But God knew that they would reject the offered kingdom.

It is also my belief that rejection of the Messiah would happen, that is the reason that we are told that Jesus was crucified before the foundation of the world. What else could it have been a prefiguration of?

hello eddif, dirtfarmer here

As you say; we are like the moon, we have no light of our own, only a reflecting of the light of the "Son".

Matthew 5:17 KJV
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Fulfill:
First fruit - Jesus
Passover lamb - Jesus
Sabbath - we enter his rest
Holy day - day of the Lord

The mystical ox became the bishop doing his work (pay good preacher)

The natural pacemaker looking like a crucified man - hidden precious quickening Spirit directing our life. The desperately wicked and deceitful human heart needs the benefit of the word in our heart.

Actually, the latest conspiracy theory claims the moon does produce it's own light.

hello wondering, dirtfarmer here

The kingdom would have been established then and there would have been no church. God knew that the Jews would reject the kingdom. The reason why Jews rejected or stumbled, is so that salvation would come to the Gentiles and by the Gentiles, the Jews would be provoke to jealousy.

Romans 11:11, " I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles," . One might ask, why was it important that the Gentiles be saved? The later part of that verse answers why: For to provoke them to jealousy.

Verse 14 states ," If by any means, I may provoke to emulations them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.

Could you give some inspiration you have received on this matter?

Now.
Easy Edward.

We do give off something that some change into light.

A night scope will take the heat of our metabolism and convert it into a vision of sorts. The law has a glory, but it is pale when compared to God's spiritual self.

I think Romans 7:25 gives us the arise part of the verse at hand. We stumble erect, but the glory presented is the Gospel message.

Reba takes us there with that next verse.
