There was an exceedingly faithful Christian who was on a small private flight from Hawaii to the US mainland, when the plane had technical problems and crashed. When the man came to, he was alone on a deserted island. Knowing he could trust God, he began to pray that God would save him from his plight. After a day of prayer, a seaplane pilot saw the island and the man on it; landing and offering the man a flight back to the mainland. The stranded Christian said, "No thank you sir. I have prayed to God,and He will deliver me; I need no help from man." So the pilot left, baffled at this reaction.
Then after another week of prayer, finally a Navy vessel came near enough that an ensign spotted the stranded man; sending out a rowboat and personnel to help him back to the ship and onward home. Again the man refused, saying, "No thank you. I have prayed to God, and He will deliver me. I need no help from man."
So the navy personnel returned to the ship and cast off; leaving the man there.
After two more weeks of prayer, the man is malnourished, dehydrated and near death; yet still praying and trusting in God to deliver him. Suddenly a Coast Guard chopper spies him and lands on the island, offering food, water and a flight to the mainland hospital. Again the man says, " No thank you sir. I have prayed to God,and He will deliver me; I need no help from man." So the Coast Guard takes off and leaves.
Within 24 hours the man finally perishes; alone on the island. When he gets up to heaven, and is before God; he asks, "Father, why did you leave me to die on that island? I repeatedly trusted in you so completely i did not allow trust in man to interfere. Rather than accept their help; I waited on you to deliver me. how could you just ignore me?"
" IGNORE YOU???" God exclaims. "Son, I didn't ignore you at all! I sent you a seaplane, a navy ship and a Coast Guard chopper! What more could you possibly ask??"
