Just wanted to share this little scenario that reminded me of why God sometimes allows suffering:

I was just outside and was watching my neighbor's little boy riding his bike down the street. There is a T-crossing at the end of our street and while cars will stop at the stop sign, little boys on bikes will not. I've seen this little boy "run" this stop sign on his little bike often.

Well, about 50 yards from the stop sign, the little boy hit a rock or something and skidded his bike and fell. At precisely the time the boy would have gone through that stop sign, a big SUV came barreling through on the cross street. I shudder to imagine what would have happened if that little boy had not fallen on his bike and gone through that stop sign!

Naturally, with his knee all scuffed up, the little boy got up crying and mad, walking his bike back to his house. It never occurred to him that that fall might have saved his life. But I saw it all and I understood.

Sometimes when we go through periods of suffering or trial, we may never see the outcome or the "why." But God never lets his children suffer without a reason. :amen

Wow....that is scary Jo :o I've often thought of that though. You know, when you're stuck in traffic or something like that, you never know if it's for your protection. God does see the big picture, we only see a glimpse. That's a really good reminder too, and maybe that boy should know what you saw so that he knows how important it is to stop at that stop sign :clap

JoJo,

It is not as timid as "letting" or "allowing." These processes still leave us in the fear of death. There is only One God, the Father, in whom all our motions are brought to pass.

This light will make your conversation with his mom more gentle than the darkness of "what if."

God, who is One, has a chain of workers (many links) all under His domain, by Jesus Christ. In Jesus, God is working all things after the counsel of His own will, things from the least to the greatest. The light and the dark are the same to Him, though He has divided them for now.

Praise God through His holy child, Jesus our Lord, the True Light.

Joe

Amen JoJo!
I've seen what your talking about and I've experienced it myself many, many times. Isnt' it great to know that God is in control!

Caroline and I talked about this breifly the other day, and it's great to think about how many bad things have happened to us, but to know that they could just be to save us from something worse.

Children are sometimes oblivious to the dangers around them... just as we are. All you can do is praise God and know he's in control.

This is such a perfect illustration. I think of the times when I was younger when I thought God was mean because He didn't answer my prayers, and I am so ashamed. Thank you Jojo for sharing this!

Love, Kelli
