[God's Child]

Love and Hope -by God's Child

He died on the cross for me
He loves me, he created me
I keep pushing him away,
But he takes my hand and asks to stay
I hold his hand and walk with him,
But Satan grabs my other hand and tries to take me away from him
God comforts me, but I just let go
I look at him and tell him no
Satan drags me along the dirty path
And brings me lots of hate and wrath
I call out for God and he suddenly appears
He embraces me and wipes away my tears
I tell him that I love him and ask if he will forgive me
He smiles and says, just pick up your cross and follow me

Satan will tempt us to sin and drag us away from God, but God will always be there to help us.

I entered this poem in a contest through my school, and it was selected to be published in a book. It is still being judged to see if I win a money prize.
