Really? I'm not 100% how ads work, but shouldn't they be somewhat related to the content of the site you're visiting??

bet you check out hollywood type stuff. most of the ads i get are on home improvement. We are searching out stuff to redo our 1920 kitchen. Head over to the thread " should Christians carry knifes" you get knife ads..

If you have Firefox, you can install Add Block Plus (I think that's what it's called) for free, and it eliminates all adds from every web page, including Facebook. I haven't seen any adds on this site for months, ever since Mike and Nick told me about it, and it's GREAT! :thumbsup

I moved this from the General Forum to Suggestions and Questions.

Reba, I've offered before to work you through this and spell-check via PM's. Still waiting to hear from you. :)

If you go to any discussion board on vBulletin (at least the ones I've checked) they have the same types of ads and the same questions coming from their members. They come as a set, and some believe certain ones are driven by key words in threads/posts. I don't know if that's true, but I know the set of ads will not go away unless the owner of this site, GregHead, hears from enough members. I would suggest sending him a PM, and in the mean time, download Firefox and get the add-on, "AdBlock Plus".

To reba's question, once you have AdBlock, when you see an ad, you right click on it and select AdBlock which is among the choices. If you don't want the add blocked, you don't have to block it. I don't see any ads unless I'm viewing from my Blackberry. Firefox doesn't have a mobile browser for the Blackberry. Getting Firefox and AdBlock might seem like it is a pain, but it's as easy as it can be. You download the browser, and it gives you the option to transfer all of your bookmarks. It takes 5 minutes to do it all, and you never have to look at another ad again. :thumbsup

Well i downloaded the adkiller. And guess what a spell check came with it ! I also lost 9 of 10 games of 9 ball.. :sad

So the whole browser bar? looks different. google seems to be gone. Would it make sense to go to add programs and get rid if it.
