Hi Jesus Lover, I suppose I should first ask what you term as lucid. Are you in fact attempting to discern or interupt your dreams as having revelance to your life, and/or others? In another thread you mentioned a friend being in the occult, and I hope not influencing your actions here as you say you have control of participating or not in that activity. Your dad may have an insight to your dreams that you don't. :shrug

Count me in same as wanting to know as Eugene said.

'Lucid dreaming' is a new one for me. I just done a quick read up of it after Googling it, but if you could explain it in relation to you, that would be great.

A lucid dream is a dream during which the dreamer is aware of dreaming. During lucid dreaming, the dreamer may be able to exert some degree of control over the dream characters, narrative, and environment. And if you are wondering i got the information from this website: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dream

I have dreams where I am aware that I'm dreaming but this is only a recent thing. It's usually the case that I'm dreaming and am not aware, at least that awareness isn't revealed in the dream. I have lots of dreams and they are similar. I don't try to analyze them but I suppose they are telling me something of my deeper conscious thoughts. Lots of my dreams have to do with trying to get somewhere, being lost, going the wrong way, and never arriving. Other dreams where I'm late for teaching my class and students are missing. When I get there, I'm totally unprepared, and the class is total chaos. Parents are in the room watching. Then those dumb dreams where I am being attacked and I fight back with my expert karate skills. I've kicked the dog, punched my wife, and once kicked her straight in the knee cap and she cried for a long time. I guess I got her really good. She was mad at me for days.

I guess it would depend on where you steered the dream.
Regular dreaming is considered by many psychologists to be necessary for normal functioning. By directing your dreams, you may be interrupting the body's natural processes.

Thank you, Jesus lover. I did actually read that bit but there were heaps of other articles as well which made me think there were lots of ways lucid dreaming could be used and I wondered what you had been experiencing. Like if you do lucid dreaming and spirit guides come to your then that means big trouble. It means you are being targeted by demons who seek to deceive you. Since I have had to cast out a few demons I can assure you they do deceive, they do get inside to varying levels, they do mean you harm. In Christ we have power but we do not open doors to the enemy. I am not saying you do this with lucid dreaming but I was wondering.

As Jim Parker said above, it is what lucid dreaming is used for that makes the difference between good or bad.

It appears from the science of it that lucid dreaming itself is rare but natural. And not so rare for those who work on practicing it so can do it more often. One article for example: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-to-control-dreams/

My personal take on it, after reading about it, is that it is unlikely in its natural state to be of the devil. But a person who is using it unwisely, I believe, could bring themselves great harm. Like electricity, it is a good thing but do not put your finger in the power socket, it can kill. There is a problem with all of this: If you live at home and your dad don't want you to do it then I think it best for you to do what ya dad says. I do not know if you can have discussion about it with your dad. Sort things out. Are you able to ask him, nicely, to help you to understand why he has that view on it? Are you able to show him articles from the 'net that talk about the science of sleep and how lucid dreaming seems to happen naturally from time to time? Maybe you can, maybe you can't. Living with parents can be a strain at times.

Dreaming seems to be the way the brain dumps short-term storage. So maybe not so good to mess with it.

I notice that I seem to have the ability to change a dream that goes in a direction I find disturbing or otherwise objectionable. In my dream, I make a certain hand gesture, and I get a reset. But since one only remembers dreams one has shortly before waking, it might be a sort of halfway state that lets me do this.

You’re under heavy spiritual attacks from learning the occults. Lucid dream, astral projection, out of body... these are from the demonic realm.

Email me as I need to ask you some personal question and I’ll try my best to assist you on this issues. You don’t need a priest! Have NO fear, Jesus are setting people like you freed 24/7.

The only fear you need to have is fear the Lord.

It's not really something you can decide to start doing, which is how you put it in your OP.

I'm responding here because there was a period in my life where God had me dreaming lucidly. It sure was a lot of fun! If I could just decide to start it up again I would.

I think it must have served His purpose, which is why I no longer do that. It also impacted my relationship with Him.

i take a lot of vitamins, because...its supposed to help, if you're "severely mentally ill" enough to need a daily tranquilizer. anyway...for a while there, I was taking my high potency b-vitamins 2x daily, once in the AM, then again in the PM, but then...whoa. the lucid dreams, the vivid dreams, just got to be a bit much, so I just double up the AM dose and switched to time-release.

aside from that, I'm not personally a fan of pursuing experiences like that. it overlaps with the occult and some questionable elements of New Age, psychology, etc. (to me). Plus, I've dealt with in your face psychosis, so...I kinda value being stable and boring, lol.

Matthew 4:8 kjv
Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

Being encouraged to see kingdoms in dreams? What happens when a kingdom takes dominion over an aspect of your life. Let us suppose society says to pursue this kingdom has a 25 to life prison term for acting out this dream / vision / hallucination? If the dream takes dominion over your life, you no longer can control the dream.
Then
You need some help:
1. Be medicated to the extent you are a zombie and can not act out your dream.

2. Have a spiritual person help you out of the situation. If you get an unlearned person you may get worse.

3. Go for the dream, but hell may not be positive.

Jesus put Satan’s suggestions off. Just avoid wrong dreams, visions. Are you able to discern good and evil? If it looks good will you do it? We are all tempted, but we should be aware of dangers. Resist the devil and he will flee.

I am not a qualified in the flesh to deal with all this.

That does not seem to be the case with me. I dream lucid mabye 10-15% of the time, I note no decrease in quality of rest nor mental agility the next day.

Sure is fun... But maybe two weeks ago, I had a dream and I was thinking I was dreaming but looked around and convinced myself it was not a dream. I woke to run to the bathroom and found it amusing because, up to that night, I'd never 'got it wrong', once I figured out I was dreaming, I KNEW. I found it funny that my mind fooled itself. :)

I had a dream that I was dreaming. I then woke up, lived 60 years, then I died. Then I woke up again and realized it was the same dream. Now I am living through the same 60 years over again.

Wow. I just posted a question about this in a related thread. Wish I would have seen this first. Interesting...
