Sorry CE
Didn't even check out the link.
I'm an older person.
Cancer was supposed to be almost cured within the next 10 years.
That was about 30 years ago.
Ditto for other stuff.
When it happens, I'll believe it.

I'm all alone here this evening (very unusual) and have a lot of time to look around the forum.
It's fun!

Do you think God may have appeared to those advertizing the possible dementia cure?

Oral Roberts's Word on Cancer
By Wayne Biddle and Margo Slade
Published: January 30, 1983

The war against cancer may soon be joined by Christian soldiers called to battle by evangelist Oral Roberts. In solicitations launched this month, Mr. Roberts said Jesus appeared to him and declared a breakthrough will occur at the still-rising City of Faith medical center in Tulsa, Okla.

According to a spokesman for the City of Faith center, the fund raising will help finish the complex of three high-rise buildings: a 60-story clinic one-third complete; a 30-story, 770-bed hospital currently licensed for 294 beds, and a 20-story research tower that is just a shell. The project so far has been debt-free, supported by some $150 million in donations. Two years ago Mr. Roberts said a 900-foot figure of Jesus assured him the center would be built.

He said the Lord also told him to get the hundreds of thousands of ''prayer partners'' associated with his religious enterprise to fork over $240 apiece for the war chest.

I can't get that 900 ft figure of Jesus out of my head.
Was it in Rio De Janeiro by any chance?
I think a really big statue like that, requires a really big donation!

Know what's sad? People with cancer are desperate and will do anything.
