Hey I have a teacher at my school that is...not very nice... There are two things that really make me tick about him:

1) he talks abut Christianity and religion like it is a tool. He says religion is used to make people "happy". I feel like Christianity is so much more than that. Christianity is a relationship, not a religion for me. He has called me an "extremist" because I...I don't say that all religions are equaly right. He tried to get me to say that there is a chance I might be wrong about God being real and I couldn't do it because God can't not be real. He has to be. He took it as me being an egotist and pompus but I wasn't.

2) I have dyscalcula (math dyscalula) and he yelled at me today for not paying attention today in math. To me, math sounds like a foriegn language. I tried to explain that to him but he didn't listen. He never listens. His wife is my math teacher and she told him that I zone out a lot and I do. But that's because being in a class really doesn't help me. When I say "I don't understand" then the teacher says "Well WHAT don't you understand?" I get all confused because I don't undersand ANY of it. He tells me to work around it. He used an example of people with no legs and the fact that they can still run marathons with fake legs. I feel like he is trying to talk me out of a learning dysability. I don't NOT want to learn math. I do, but I would feel better doing it one on one. I think better when it's just me and the teacher and no one else. I wish I could explain it better.

Comments, advice?

Hello, pray about it is my number one advice. Maybe if you can't explain why Christianity is a feeling and not a tool you could show by example? Show him what being a Christian is. Maybe God will open the door and show your teacher who He is.

In regards to the maths problem, your best bet would be to get a tutor. They can help you through your troubles, and once you can drop maths you'll never have to worry about it again.

With the teacher, I say just give a little ingratiating smile and ignore what he says. Your personal beliefs have nothing to do with the course, so you aren't obligated to say anything at all.

I have a tutor, my teacher. He helps me in between classes and I'm not sure if my parents would be able to get me another one but I don't know so I will ask about that.

Anyway the math thing and the Christian thing are both seperate. I don't think him talking about Christianity that way has anything to do with math. Those are just the two key things that make me really mad at him. I don't like being called an extemist and I don't like him telling me what my religion is. I think that if he had worded it differently I would be ok like if he said "Religion for me is a tool" but he says "Religion for people is a way to be happy and used as an anchor" It drives me crazy. :o

As for your learning disability maybe this will help?

Great website to use. Because you can look over the concept over and over again as much as you want. And as for the math teacher. I wish he was my math teacher instead so that i could make my case against him.

Oh yeah and the website uses videos for teaching not just text. :)

Your case? oh i would love to hear this.

btw my parents talked to him and things have improved. and thank you for the website! :) I will check it out.

Are you actually interested in hearing it? Ive been through a lot of arguements with atheist lately. The main battleground being http://www.scienceforums.net/. There i battle against a mainly atheist group with bias atheist TOS. So through the short period of time of 2 weeks i have sharpened up my argument skills quite a bit. I could give the the good old Q vs A debate if you would like.

I have been where you are and I have a querstion for you: do you want to be right or do you want to glorify God? and really think about that one before answering.

Trust me, it's a question I have to ask myself every day. It's obnoxious cuz usually I want to be right.

In essence in my work there i do both. Because i show them the truth of it. They bash christianity for a certain belief or for a thing it says in this scripture and i show them the truth. But they usually do not listen, But i will fight on. As i do so i get mod notes about how i am not supposed to question theories like the big bang and evolution or about how the TOS says i am not allowed to preach "Even in the religion forum there by the way" but i will fight on. Because i feel obligated to show the truth. If they dont want to hear it then they should simply not read it.

Ok...I used to preach a lot and a lot of people didn't like it. So here's the thing. People are generaly turned off to all that preachy stuff but if you love them then they will be more responsive. Don't shove it down their throats cuz then they will just not like it (I have been there done that. I know what I am talking about) but if you love them they will be more open to you and maybe THEY will eventually ask about Christianity. If not my best advice is KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND PRAY. I had to learn that the hard way. trust me prayer will get you farther than talking.

Oh yes yes i know of course i dont go up to people and just start quoting scripture. They bring the conversation on by saying that EVEN IF God exist than he is malevolent and evil because he lets disasters happen and what not. So i naturally defend whether it is that or on the other end of christian/atheist argument. And when i make a statement on it in new thread they generally try their best to trash it, smeirre it and make me look like a fool. In response i defend. These guys just love to bash christianity all they can. So i am not boring these guys at least by doing this. Of course in the case of others its different. They just dont like discussing religion. Because of whatever reason. But i guess thats discussion for another time.

Anyway ill be back in a few mins im taking a shower.

If they don't like talking about religion then don't talk about it. Just love them. Actions speak louder than words. If they start bashing God then just hang back and pray cuz God is big. He can defend himself. He doesn't need you to defend him. He just asks you to love others.

I will willingly take persecution in the name of rightousness and in the name of God. I feel obligated to serve him in this way and in others.

Matt 5:10 Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 5:11Blessed are ye when men shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 5:12Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets that were before you.

Yes he can defend himself. But i will willingly take hits as well as him. Because when i do so i am not just taking persecution. But God still does as well. But i am taking it just the same in his name. I am happy to do it and he is happy when i do it as well.

And if they didnt want to talk about religion i most certainly would not. But they come to the religion forum and debate. And do not ask me to stop when i defend. They want the conversation.
