a young lady and a young man were sitting on the porch outside my duplex/townhouse. I used my social skills to start up a brief convo, and...yes! Not -everyone- is out to get me, LOL. I feel so much better now. They're a bit younger than me, they seem hi-quality, and...yeah. Life is good, and improving, by God's grace.

probably a -minor- thing for most people, but...here we go...BIG STEP for me (screaming caps obnoxious, but necessary).

I Praise God for His goodness! :)

I changed the batteries in my Wii remote for the first time all by myself. Now you might think that's nothing, but to me that's another step towards independence which is a HUGE step for me!! :yes You can laugh, but that's something that I really struggle with. By the way, well done CE!!! :thumbsup

im not trying to take over CFnet w/ my daily life, but...

I went to Aldi today, and the world did not end. The clerk was even nice to me, even though I didn't know how to do the Aldi thing (no quarters for the cart, had to buy a bag, etc.). Oh man...good prices, Aldi!

I'm becoming less and less afraid of the world, and more and more..."rational," I suppose. God is good! Oh, and those Aldi prices...so low! I got some frozen cheese ravioli and pasta sauce, some other stuff...when she rang it up, it was not only a low price, it came out as an even price, too. :)

OK. That's my big adventure for today.

That's fine, I'm glad that you are stepping out of your comfort zone. You will always have my love, prayers, and support. :hug

I first shopped at Aldi in 1985. My rule for shopping: look there first. They don't have everything, but if they've got it, it's way cheaper than you can get anywhere else, and it's almost always good.

The price difference isn't as big as it used to be, and some of their "specialty items" might now even be a little higher than you could get elsewhere. Still not horrible price gouging though, and I don't begrudge them some profit. Plus, they're a good employer, for a really hard worker used to long hours.

glad to know they're a good employer. the workers seemed...happier than the walmart workers, that's for sure (not saying much but...still...).

their in-store brand of alfredo is surprisingly delicious, btw...and I think it was a good bit cheaper than even walmart's prices on comparable material. good times...

Wow reba, so you are still alive after all. I haven't seen you around here in forever and I was just thinking about you last night actually. Hope and pray that you're doing alright. :hug

more stuff...

thanks to Christ, life (and that more abundantly) goes on. Did more extensive grocery shopping today, at the local Aldi. I thought I overheard people saying stuff (the usual material, about legal troubles and such), and I just kept going. Tranquilizers do help...but my real hope is in The Lord. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

My dad seems pleased with my progress, already. He had me meet him at a gas station and he filled up my tank (thank goodness!). God is good! Now, I have plenty of food, everything I need, and...

where to from here? Wherever you go, there you are. The apartment is nice, I'm keeping it clean, and...its good to have my own space again, and also...to on the one hand be given so much that I need (and want...), but also there's some expectation that I make some progress in life. I have -such- wonderful parents!

I Praise God for His goodness! No one seems out to get to me, not really. I'm definitely not Mr.Popular, but...I think there's a lot going on there...my own sins, stigma, and..."just the way the world works," plus...

since I (miraculously...) got genuinely saved, I really seem to "bring out the demon in people," LOL. Not that I"m The Ultimate Christian or anything, but....The Lord has done a mighty work in me, and I think...

seeing a wretched human being made whole kinda doesn't sit well with a lot of people, even in "The Bible Belt." Ugh.

:)

thanks, tessa. it isn't always easy, but...it could be -terrible-, and it would be, without Jesus.

as is now...I'm blessed beyond measure. Forgiven, washed+made clean...that's the -big- thing, of course. I'm hoping to make friends, somehow. church would be good. I know this sounds...odd...but I feel weird about not giving money to the collection plate. :-(

I skipped the collection plate once, while living out of state...did not go well. I got a look like...whoa. Then, when I visited this one church, I heard some young lady in her late teens complaining about me "not working" and "living off welfare," etc. OK...I was actually living off my parents, but...whatevs...

-sigh- I'll figure something out. I really, really will. Verna's kind to me, my parents are extra, amazingly kind to me, and...

God is good! :)
