Not too long ago I decided to give a different provider a try in generating merchandise with my designs on them. There has been very limited success since launching and I wanted to get some feedback to possibly flesh out where my weak spots are. So, if you are so inclined make your way over the Knotical Swag shop and peruse a bit.

Any constructive criticism would be most welcome. Thank you.

No one here has an opinion? I find that really hard to believe.

I'm not sure what "Hold Fast" is about.

    Sailing?
(Blackbeard for President was a clue)

"Salt Life" has you beat by a landslide in merchandising if this is the theme. People who don't even sail or go ocean boating get that logo because of happy memories of beach trips.

I'm just a land lover... So maybe my opinion doesn't matter much. Pirates, sailing, and calm seas sell...Not really ideal for true sailing but those ideas sell.

You might consider having some Old Salt regale the visitors with a tale of what the heck "Hold Fast" means.
Also, the lower half of the intro Logo at the top is almost obscured in darkness. Hard to really understand it. And, to me (without knowing anything about the phrase "Hold Fast") doesn't hint at a nautical theme.
Maybe the background of a sailing ship somewhere?
The prices seem a bit sporty to me.... but I assume you know your market.

    Hi Knotical
I like the logo of Knotical Swag a lot.
I also don't understand what Hold Fast means, but maybe enthusiasts do.

I found no problem with the site. There's a little bit of everything, custom designs and objects.
The prices seem fair to me.

Part of the problem might be that Amazon reigns supreme.
This is probably why you chose to sell specific items to a specific market.
Maybe you need more advertising? How would I know to go there if I wanted one of these objects?

I can't think of anything else.

Hmmm...I have been thinking about changing the banner image on the shop. It does come across a bit dark. I do agree I need to come up with some more authentic descriptions of the merchandise, I am just limited in my creativity in that department.

The prices are pretty much set by zazzle, so there is not much to work with there. Though, I have tried to pick lower cost shirts and things to put images on.

the Hold Fast image was an idea I got after watching the move Master and Commander with Russel Crowe. One of the sailors had those letters tattooed across his fingers, like in the image.

Since you are selling in America primarily...
High quality can get you the big dollars. Pocket T's for us "old guys" are better.

I'm watching guys shell out 3 times the price to get a similar product (which I purchased) that has been individually inspected for defects. And I will be fine if there's small defects as I can fix them.

    Just saying...

But logo stuff tends to be a quick, impulse sale. (Marketing class...Sorry). Priced to take all the money in their pocket and a dollar more and send them packing. That's the game.

Niche marketing is a special creature. You have to actually join chat forums and hang out in places where they hang out to see what they really want. Then with a great insight you can hit paydirt.
