Morris Cerullo's $12M House, $100M Net Worth

I've been familiar with Morris Cerullo's ministry for many years. He is an Assembly of God evangelist and I was raised in the Assembly of God denomination. But what I recently found out was that Rev. Cerullo lives in a $12,000,000 mansion in possibly the richest neighborhood in the whole country in San Diego, California. Cerullo admits that his own net worth is about $100,000,000. But you might wonder how he has generated such a huge net worth when he has been a preacher most of his life. Morris' house is protected by two gates. He drives a fantastically expensive car with gold plating on the interior. He owns several private jets. I was recently watching him on the Inspiration Network. He was doing a "camp meeting." The camp meetings I remember as a child were to promote revival and get ready to go to heaven. But Morris' idea of camp meeting was to try to get everyone to donate $900, and in return they were supposed to get a special anointing to make money. My Bible only tells of one kind of anointing, the anointing of the Holy Spirit. 1 John 2:27. In comparison, the Friday night live revival services on Daystar Network don't even talk about money. In my opinion this is the real thing. See http://www.cephas-library.com/evangelis ... fraud.html

I am no fan of MC - I was turned off by his fund raising techniques many years ago. But, I have some questions about your statements:
1) $12M house
2) $100M net worth
3) very expensive car with gold plated interior.

What is your reference/source for this information? I'm interested.

Thanks.

I'm wondering something else beyond how he got his $100m net worth.

How in the world can he afford 1 jet let alone several with that level of wealth?

And a $12 million house? One again how on $100m?

Just wondering.

Gullible people making few men rich is quite sad.

It's borderline immoral, if you ask me.

I believe that God wants us to be prosperous, and that includes finances.

THINK of the good that money can do, if applied properly!!!

IF what is said of this "preacher" is true, then I dare say he's not using the money God has blessed him with properly. My current girlfriend's mother inherited $560,000 about four years before she died.

She spend her last time on earth giving EVERY CENT away. THAT is what God blesses us with great wealth for - she gave it to people who were hungary, who needed food due to bad economic times, to a man so he could get dental work for his kids that he could not afford, etc.

Yea, THAT is what money is for - it is not for gold cars, a mansion, etc. But again, I don't know what the truth is about this guy. But I suspect I do.

I have been being a good girl here in the forums and now i see another creep. I wonder if God is not totaly dismantaling the AofG.

So many of these guys are AofG....People i knew personaly are part of coverups....

Married CA director who chased skirts but As the story goes "he leads so many to the Lord......" He is so carismatic... etc...

The fact that he's trying to sell the anointing of God, or place monetary restrictions on the Holy Spirit is the most TERRIFYING aspect of that whole post.

"Get your Holy Spirit anointing right here! $900.00 per touch!" :thud:

Where is the fear of God in these men?

But Morris' idea of camp meeting was to try to get everyone to donate $900, and in return they were supposed to get a special anointing to make money.

And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
(Acts 8:18-19 KJV)

God's gifts aren't for sale.

God's gifts aren't for sale.
NO, but they make a good scam.

I think that to do such a thing is a form of "taking the Lord's name in vain" worse than uttering His name as a curse because it leads people astray. A simple curse does not lead people astray.

Just my opinion.

All I know is that the guy gives me the creeps. Benny Hinn has the same effect on me. I'm somewhat empathetic and I can oftentimes tell where a person is coming from when I watch them or meet them. Seems he's living by the flesh; preaching a false gospel.

Did you know that from the beginning of time the whole purpose of God was to reproduce Himself?... And when we stand up here, brother, you're not looking at Morris Cerullo; you're looking at God. You're looking at Jesus.

Morris Cerullo said that God told him,
"Take up your pen and write. I want you to warn my people. There are 5 major crises that are coming in the next decade of destiny, the 1990's."
"The world will be experiencing the greatest economic turmoil in the history of humanity."
". . . one of the greatest crises we have ever experienced."
"It will be an incredible financial crisis and it's going to plunge the world into a state of great turmoil and perplexity."
"We're going to see in this decade a complete collapse of the present worldwide monetary system."
"It will make the Wall Street crash of 1929 seem like a picnic."
"And that crisis will come before the year 1994.

I think it was about 91 or 92 that the Lord gave me a brief vision with an explanation. I am not in the habit of getting such things, so it was rare for me. Anyway it went like this, I saw huge crowds marching in the street and they were demanding that the government fix the situation, they were very angry and asserted that they would fix the situation if the government would not do it. As I was watching this the Lord said to me, it is an economic collapse and it is happening all across the world. The Lord then said, those who are small and compact will survive but those who are greatly in debt and string out will lose everything. There was no date given.

It's pretty sad, isnt it? I mean tithing is great, but I really don't think God would want a Church leader (or any of us for that matter) living a "100 million dollar" lifestyle.

If I was THAT rich I'd buy a nice house, large and comfortable so my family can enjoy it, and maybe indulge in a few nice things that first class sport tickets and a trip to hawaii and whatever else is needed for a normal, comfortable lifetime.

But the vast majority I'd use the rest to fund really good charitable ideas and make them happen "In the name of Christ", programs that will actually put food on children's plates and get them proper shoes and clothes and stuff.

I mean I think we can all agree that the joy we would get from that FAR exceeds anything material that we could possibly buy

I'm quite empathic, . . . and I see deceit in their eyes when I see them on TV. I have no problem with a pastor who lives reasonably, but people like Cerullo and Hinn [and many others on those types of stations] him me wrong.

But the thing is, those who are energetic enough to amass that kind of money do so because money is what really matters to them. IT may be, that money is ALL that matters to them.

I know there are exceptions, but most people of great means live in a funny world where money is security, and there is never "enough". If there was, they would not have amassed what they have.

Cerullo is not a preacher, he preaches because he found that preaching was a way he, given his skills and gifts, could make big money. He was ready to do and say what ever it took to separate people from their money.

And I am sure that he has rationalized it all in his head. I bet he sleeps like a baby at night.
