Pain killers won't be effective for numerous malfunctions of the human body.

That's why it would be a smart move to find a new doctor, explain the problems/symptoms, and go from there. MS can be identified with a MRI, blood test, spinal tap. (Spinal tap is supposed to be the definitive test)

To try to self-diagnose and treat the symptoms yourself could potentially lead to further complications of a more serious nature.
This would be a major project for someone who is totally discouraged with Doctors, and insurance. My old time 'great doctors'(in the state I use to live in) retired, or died.
Some years ago, my neurologist informed me that I had the sign of MS on my MRI, though, no notable physical symptoms. These test were on an un-related problem. Since retiring, we moved to another state and it would be Doctor hunting again. I have to talk pretty fast to explain problems/symptoms in 7 minutes. :hysterical Being from Texas I talk pretty slow. Instead of gambling, wasting time and money on finding a good Doctor, I present it to the Lord. BTW Lyrica which I was on, did nothing to help nerve pain in my legs and hands. If only Luke was around:amen
I don't trust secular Doctors, who worship themselves and money. And found it does no good to ask if they are believers since they give you a privacy statement. So I'm at the mercy of the system, or the Lord.

yeah...doctors tend to be ridiculous. Its all about $$$ and status. My experiences are more in Mental Health, Inc., but I can relate. When I was a "loser" from what I've heard others refer to as a "rinky dink, middle-class family," I got treated poorly. Now, my people are (quoting my current psychiatrist here) "well-to-do," and I'm "very intelligent, and Bipolar I." Funny, that.

Anyway, I hope you can find somebody to help you out. Pain killer prescribing is so strange. A lot of people say their docs won't prescribe stuff that works, while every city seems to have a shady "candy man" who gives massives prescriptions to straight up junkies. What gives?

You're in my prayers, btw. :)

Evidence of migraines also show up a white spots on MRIs, which is why more definitive tests are required. For a neurologist to simply toss it out that you "had the sign of MS" and not follow up with tests was irresponsible.

You could write it all down, to save time. By doing so ahead of the appointment, you would be able to list your health history as well as the specific issues you're currently experiencing. You could type it on the computer, print it out, and give it to the doctor. (Make sure you retain a copy for yourself!)

Lyrica? That's prescribed for treatment of fibromyalgia and diabetic nerve pain. If your health issues are related to diabetes, this isn't something to take lightly.

She's right, they did a Spinal Tap on me and quite a few other tests before the diagnosis. And for my pain the have me on the synthetic Opiate, Tramadol.

Don't remember all the details of the visit. He may have suggested it, but I had gone in for another issue. And I may have discounted it since I did not have the symptoms yet. He said he was retiring, which meant with every new Dr. I have to have all test repeated. I'm not prone to head aches. It wasn't spots but 1 large thumb size spot.
Not trying to excuse but explain>This office where my previous 2 Doctors had retired from (plus 2 or 3 others who left the Office), left only 2 who had to take up the slack for the other 4 or 5.
Since he appeared to be very over-worked I did write everything down, including latest test, that could explain some of my pains.
He dismissed my notes saying I needed more test, I said fine. But none were scheduled, except for my heart, which I had no problems with. The results were, my heart was fine. Though I was not tested for Fibromyalgia, I do have nerve issues, I was tested for, in my younger days. I am not diabetic, which I was regularly test for, and test occasional at home.

Tramadol? sounds familiar. Hydrocodone was one of my last, that did not help. I was fearful of becoming addictive, I believe the Lord wanted me to just get off of all of them. BTW I have sleep apnea which these pain killers can slow down ones breathing.
So far what has helped me through our Lord is COMEDY.
Proverbs 17:22
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person's strength.

I notice higher pain when I become dehydrated. Occasional constipation increases pain. Someone told me about
this recipe I'm trying today.
1 tbsp Oregano - 1 tsp Hyssop - 1 tsp Thyme - 1 tbsp Turmeric - 1 tsp Nettle - 1/2 tsp Red Pepper
Bring to boil, steep 10 minutes. taking a towel, over my head, inhaling the steam. drink it after it cools.
Hyssop increases blood pressure if I remember right, so not to take if you have High Blood pressure.

Likewise I have nerve issues that drive me crazy. When the worms begin to move under my skin it is maddening and can be infuriating. It does however take my mind off the pain for a bit,

Turmeric has been the greatest blessing to meand my wife and daughter include it in every dish the can, in addition to taking it as a supplement.

Looks like a snake under your skin? I get them occasionally. On the Google links below are web sites that connect MS with low magnesium levels. It seems to be depleted from the soils, and our diets may not have enough to sustain health.
When I remember to take it I do feel a noticeable difference. The best I've found so far was Dr.Axe brand b/c it added Vit K and ?something else which helped it to absorb into the body. Though I think it's best to get in foods.

Not ALL doctors are the same... not all are in it for the money... Dont give up on all of them .. I know one that makes house calls , sometimes pays for prescriptions,
WOW! :shock youv'e been blessed. I had a few really good ones. I just don't have the energy to go through the long arduous process of finding one insurance will cover. Waiting on the Lord to see if someone comes up in some way. We are in a new state which we know no one.
Like whats the point of repeated test, changing Dr.s, referred to specialist for more test, to be given pain meds that don't help and are addictive, with worse side effects? :eek2 See my point?

What city do you live in, I live north of Houston, where I was born.

Just in case
What city do you live in, I live north of Houston, where I was born.
We lived in Houston much of our lives, till my husbands job took us to various parts of the US.
Do you remember cow pastures next to new buildings? We use to shop at Gulfgate Mall.
I use to work at Foley's downtown.
The downtown area was going downhill, then Galleria was built.
We retired to WA.
Have you ever used magnesium pills, or oil to help with spasms and pain? The oil is expensive so I bought the dried crystals bulk and make my own. I include spinach in many dishes to increase magnesium. It has helped.

Let's pray for one another, friends.. let's journey together seeking our Lord's healing.
My thoughts for a long time now has been that this is a 'spirit of infirmity', some say it may be brought on by trauma.
But, Jesus will heal trauma...Yeshua paid for it, the Son of God suffered through much trauma.
If someone has not yet post this subject, maybe someone should start.
Luke 13:10-17
A Spirit of Infirmity
Jesus teaching in the synagogue...... 11 where there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, ......
calling her to Him saying to her,
“Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity. 13 laying His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.........this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that Jesus did.

Dear Sister Jehovah-Rapha, I was just watching NBC Nightly and they reported a new seemingly miracle drug by the name of "Ocrevus" to treat MS; showing a woman leaving wheelchairs, etc.
I looked up the name and they have some news of it at http://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/new-ms-drug-ocrevus-wins-fda-approval-n739776.
My understanding is that it costs $65,000 per year which makes it necessary for most to have an affirmation of the disease so that it's covered by their insurance.
:wave2
Thank You :salute I'll check it out as well, Shalom... but 65,000
