I understand what your saying Fembot, and I don't know the whole situation about the guy cleaning the windows.

Fact of the matter is though, the windows will not stay clean and as a result, somebody will have to clean them. As far as making the cleaning guy's job harder, I'm sure he's on a cleaning schedule where he makes his rounds. Kind of like the restrooms... They don't run in to clean the restrooms every time a person misses the trash can, so I don't think they'll come back to clean the window every time somebody leaves a fingerprint on it ;)

But anyway, neither of us know the "What if's"... If that were the case, What if the manager hired a consulting agency to do a survey on how quickly the windows got dirty and as a result, the store had to hire an additional employee to maintain the glass?... It works both ways :help

Yes, yes. Good works bring good results. But a seemingly bad action could have consequences unknown to man.
I think sometimes we may not be able to see the good in an event. This is true. It may seem like someone is not doing good works (forgetfulness, carelessness) but then the outcome of their seemingly heartless action could be a positive one. There could have been some positive result from the preachers thoughtless action. No man is perfect...

Forgiveness, Walter, is even more important than the thoughtless action. That event may have prevented you from learning from the preacher in the future. Is it more important to forgive and keep an open ear to the preacher or to cut him off and possibly miss a lesson from God?

I appreciate all the responses! :)

fembot, I understand and agree wjth what you're saying. I did stay around the guy longer and not only I but many people were disappointed in him, but I do undertsnad what you're saying.

As for the rest, well, whether the incident provided more work or not appreciation is a large part of love your neighbor, is it not? I can come up with a lot of what ifs about the guy getting angry 'cause he wasn't appreciated and respected because people thought so little of his work. Maybe losing self respect, drinking, beating his kids. Ever think about that?
It's bad enough from some people's perspective to be a janitor in the first place. Notice I said some people. We all know certain jobs are looked down on by some people.
