Yes, yes; its me, yet again

My parents are kind to me, despite who I was, what I did, before Jesus saved (and, thankfully, changed) me, inside and out. I ask that you pray for them. Mama's been blessed with retirement (at long last...), and dad's job is going strong. God has blessed them, and I'm thankful.

They -need- for me to grow up, at long last. I need to grow up, to whatever extent possible, as well. I put my parents thru untold torment when I was in darkness, and yet...now, I live here, with them, and they keep me safe and comfortable.

I don't know their spiritual condition. Now that I'm saved and I've grown up some (Praise God!), I see that they may not go to church, but they've shown me tons of Christ-like love, -despite- who I was, what I did, my ongoing sins+flaws, etc. I get the sense that they've been burned by church people, just like me, but for different reasons. Social class issues were a big issue when they were working class, then middle-middle class...they seem to be less of an issue now that they have more status and resources. Mama had a rough time with -some- churches because of her gender. Happens, I guess.

So...please keep my (loving, kind, generous, long suffering) parents in your prayers. Thanks. :)

thanks. I guess this is part of The Lord's work in my life...seeing my parents as -people-, not just providers of -stuff- and shelter, etc. Always a good thing...

I really do appreciate the prayers. :)

thanks, everyone.

Things continue to improve or...I should say...The Lord keeps moving in our lives. Dad might retire in a couple years. He's not sure yet, but it looks like, somehow, he could actually get a bit more retiring (factoring in social security) than he would if he continued working. I'm happy for him. Nervous, because as a "mental patient," I kind of suspect that one's social class (or one's family's social class) is a -big- factor in determining what sort of treatment one receives. Not to get too self-centered, but I've had this fear that once he retires, I'll be committed, lol. I doubt it. Besides, they still have adequate resources and such, and...maybe, just maybe...we'll all 3 end up moving, once dad retires.

They're helping me quit smoking. Always a good thing. I must say, The Lord is awfully patient with me. Its time to quit, it really is. Other than that...I'm still working on the degree, just at a slower pace, and...I'm increasingly content. I see hope, both in this lifetime and in the world to come, and I"m increasingly thankful. :)
