For those who do not know my history at 123 Christian Forums, when I first started posting here, I decided that I would post a testimony for even 1000 posts I had added. At First this was easy. I hit 1000 posts on November 11th, 2004, only 36 days after I joined. After about 14 months, I had already past 6000 posts. However, after that life decided it was time for me to take a break. Over 2 and 1/2 years later, I've finally hit the next 1000 post Milestone. I can tell you, so much has changed in that time.

After about 18 months of serving here, I felt God calling me to start my own message board for teens. While I still believe that God had called me to do this, my heart was not entirely right, and so after two successful years of running a Christian forum, my site came to what was more or less a suddent stop.

It was just as well, because I had found another new place to serve, this time it was in the online virtual community of IMVU, where I still minister today. However, as you can see, God never really intended me to leave 123, as he has called me back here several times to become active again, and I just refused to find time for it.

In the last 2 and 1/2 years, God has taught me a few things.

1. A Christian may find satisfaction in successful service to God. However, if the motives of the servant are not correct, He will eventually take that ministry away. God will only allow us to ignore our purpose for so long, before He makes it very clear, in sometimes painful ways, that our focus in any ministry must be His Kingdom.

2. God has and is still teaching me patience. It is very easy to find success and assume that we will have it for as long as we want. However, if we are truly serving God, bad times WILL come. If we are truly willing to serve him, we must be patient enough to serve Him in the slow going times as well.

3. His plans are best, and it's better to recognize that right off the bat. So often, we think we know God's will after getting half a vision for what He desires. However, sometimes, God only shows us a portion of what He plans to do in our lives, and can wait even years to show us the other half of His plan. It's best to wait as long as He wishes, and get the whole vision the first time. Prayer is a must in this.

There are many other things God is doing in my life, but my hope is that one day I can share more of God's work in my life in both my past and my future to come. So with this post, if God wills, I look foward to celebrating God's work at 8000!

This is a sign that you belong to Him.

Thanks for sharing, Tim!

Tim,

Thanks for sharing. I agree, unless the Lord builds the house, we labor in vain. You have been a blessing to me personally while you have been here, Tim. I wasn't long a widow when I first came here, and you reached out to me in kindness. I know that you have been a real encouragement to the younger people who have passed through here too. The Lord bless you as you continue to follow Him.

It's good to have TimBob back. 8-)

Tim, I saw your sister in service this morning. She said I should reset your post-count to 0!

;-) j/k
