A boy and his favorite tree.

Once upon a time there was a young boy living on a farm in the middle of the forest. He was a happy young boy living with his parents and his seven brothers and sisters. They lived in a really big forest and everyday the little boy went out to play in the forest. In the forest was a big old tree, it was his favorite one and often he would go there to climb in it. All the way to the top because from the top he could see everything, the farm, the animals, his family and he had a great view of the forest, he could see over all the trees that where near him. A very nice sight, it made his heart care about all the things that he saw around him.
In this forest were other nice trees also and in the spring they would blossom and he could see the buds coming out. Some of them where really beautiful, some with really nice colours white, yellow, red, orange and pink and so on. During the summer the trees would start to grow there fruit, the more light and warmth the bigger they would get. Then in the autumn all the fruit was ready to be picked and the young boy would go in there with his brothers and sister take some of that fruit down and eat them. All sorts, cherry’s, apples, pears, nuts and much more. Most of them would be very nice and sweet, others could be sour or even dry and some would be rotten.
Now and then there would be periods of storms and a lot of rain, but one night there was a major storm. This storm was not like any other storm that this little boy had experienced. Heavy thunders and it was pouring down with rain. Normally this weather made him desire to sit near the heater in the farm. The farm still uses the old fashioned way of heating using wood. But the storm was so bad the young boy didn’t want to go out of his bed and he hoped it would cease quickly. But it didn’t the next day it was still storming, not as bad as during the night but bad enough. The young boy took courage and stepped outside to see what the storm had done during the night. He was curious about his favourite tree so he started walking through the forest and he saw all types of trees broken, damaged and some disappeared. Not a good look at all and he started to become worried about his favourite tree. He kept on walking and as he was walking he finally got to the spot where his favoured tree normally was standing. The young boy arrived at the shock of his life; his favourite tree completely ripped apart. It was utterly destroyed bits and pieced everywhere one of the thunder flashed must have hit it to bring it in such a bad state.
The poor boy’s heart started to fall apart; little by little it started to sink. After the lost of his favourite tree he was never the same again. His family was not able to cheer him up only for a little but not like he used to. The boy grew older and a couple of years later still living in the forest, the once so beautiful forest it was now dark and damaged from all areas. It looked as if it would never be the same again; the young boy lost his hope to see the forest, the once so beautiful forest ever again in the way it was when he grew up as a little boy. Most of the beautiful trees were gone and there was not much left that kept the boy interested. It caused more pain to look at it then it gave him gladness and the forest only started to look worse as time went by. The forest looked more like a wilderness.
So one day the boy decided to leave his house, he wanted to get away from all the madness so he packed his bag and left everything behind. The farm, his family and all that he grew up with he left behind in the hope he could find another beautiful tree like the one when he was younger. But as he was walking through the forest it didn’t seem to get any brighter, only darker and darker and more robust the deeper he got in the forest. Of course he had to sleep somewhere and he would make the best of what he could find and what he had at that time wherever he was in the forest. Most of the time the boy was restless and he felt lonely, he thought his life would get better the more he pursued it. The opposite seem to be true.
One day some years later when the boy had become a young man he was making a fire to cook some food and to keep him warm. But the wind was strong and all of a sudden a wind blow caused parts of the fire to fly away near to where the young man was. The fire started to spread and it became worse and worse by the second. Before he realised it he was surrounded by fire. There was no way the young man could escape it, not a single way. The young man was thinking and trying to figure out what to do next walking around in circles. The way he saw it there were only two options, one was to take all he had and try to jump through the fire or two cry out to God for help. The boy did not want to jump through the fire so he fell to his knees and cried out to God asking if He was real and if God could reach out to him quickly because time was running out.
Suddenly a big wind blow made a little path through which the boy could escape, it wasn’t big or wide but it was the last change the young boy had to escape the fire. So the boy did not give it a second thought, he grabbed his bag and ran through it. He got to the other side of the fire and was glad he escaped. Right there and then he committed himself to God and from that day onwards he decided to take action and planned to do all that he could do to restore that once so beautiful forest by cleaning it up and planting new trees.

I've written this in a prophetic way and used illustrations and picture to give you and idea as my testimony isnt very easy to write down and discuss. In fact i've written this to share with the youth back in 2008 for them to be able to relate to my story...hope it will bless you.. :amen
