Hey ezra - sorry to hear you are still facing reduced hours at work. glad you are able to supplement your income . . and no, thanks! I won't be volunteering to help chop up a tree. :) Drink lots of water! Stay safe in that heat!

I have a lot to be happy for. I have a lot to look forward too...we all do.

Prolly too much to list in this thread.
But any day above ground is a good day, praise the Lord!

Truth is, I have a lot to be thankful for, aside from salvation and grace offered by our Lord (which is what really matters)...

  • As much as I cried about how the company made me move to Texas or take a severance package - fact is, I'm glad I moved. The job has changed, the environment has changed, and I miss my friends in GA. BUT, now they are sending me to Milan Italy for two weeks of training and I got a good raise - so I live in a nicer apartment (luxury senior living, actually).
  • I now live in the cleanest, quietest, newest, safest place I've ever lived in.
  • I have good friends in no less than five states of the USA.
  • My kids are all doing really well. (I have a 35 year old son with a net worth probably close to twice mine already.)
  • My first wife (who I divorced in 1988) and I are good friends these days.
  • My sister's horrible situation is now pretty darn good - kudos to her for MAKING it happen.
  • And while my sports car's engine is making a funny noise and who knows what that means - fact is, that is my WORST problem and frankly - who cares if a TOY is maybe broken? I'll take that over all the other issues and problems some of my friends have.

Things are still not quite what I want - but are they EVER what we really want? I mean, do any of us ever live like that?
Thankful, content, happy - yea, I have deceided I am all three.

I'm happy today! My boss at my new job walked up to me and asked how old is the furnace in my house...

It's a 1989 furnace. It works, but it's ready to be changed out. He said he will sell me the equipment at his cost and just deduct it a lil at a time from my pay...(wow! I was going to ask him this very thing but he beat me to it!)

I want a good 90% efficient two stage furnace for this place. To get the gas bill down, and I want the side vent because they have the existing furnace vented into the masonry chimney...

THIS house has a fireplace in the living room but it's bricked up. They prolly blocked it off when the first gas unit went in. I want the fireplace operational!

My boss even said when I'm ready to do it, let him know and he will bring a whole crew over to help install it, gratis! It don't get any better than that lol.

After 3 weeks of fighting fires across the moors near Manchester (UK) it has rained :woot2

Firemen were stretched and had to bring in military to fight the fires. The soil is peat and the fire was spreading underground, popping up all over the place. The relentless heat and no rain made it difficult to put out.

It has been raining for several hours, real downpours, and they stated 4 hours ago they think the fire is now out.

Praise the Lord for sending this heavy rain.

Watching my cat sleep right now. Not sure how he can possibly be comfortable in that position but he's out cold . . twitching . . dreaming about something.
Makes me smile.

I got rid of all the garbage in one of my desk drawers. Been doing five minutes of decluttering a day

I'm happy that I got the grass mowed, washed dishes, organized some of my tools, and extra happy that I can sleep now. With a roof over my head and a bed under my back. Praise the Lord!

Good night, Brothers and Sisters..

I started on the chaos that is my bookshelf today. I'm going to try to organize the books by subject. I have a lot of informational dog books, a lot of Christianity books, and a lot of fiction books.
Five minutes a day is working very well for me. Easier to keep up with, and I make steadier progress.

I am happy that the kids are asleep so I can sneak to the fridge and make me a milkshake without being begged for some. I am also thankful for instant coffee so I can add it to my milkshake if they wake up lol.

I am happy that my husband and I have bern getting on good track with our devotionals again. I am so thankful for YouVersion!

I should have posted this yesterday but I forgot to, but it counts for today as well. I am happy that the sunshine finally came back and so did my best Sasuke roleplayer! :woot

I'm trying to be happy. But something happened Tuesday evening that has scared me to my soul.
Bad enough that I prayed, "Lord, if this be my life, please take my life soon."

Well, I'm better now and I'm still here... But I feel ............. scared. Unsure.
Maybe I'll start a thread on it.
