Need help from christians my age

Hello, I am an 18 year old male whom is going through a pretty rough spot in my life, I have nothing left to turn to. I have been an atheist all my life and I need convincing that God is real so I may ask His forgiveness and help. Please, help me I am in dire need, convince me that God exists so that I may be saved.

Have you tried reading through the Bible? That's a great place to start. Try reading one of the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke or John). If you go through them with a Christian friend it helps too. If you don't have a Bible of your own, then there are good online ones, like http://www.biblegateway.com is a good one I use while on these forums.

The Bible itself unfortunately does not actually prove that God exists though, which I guess is why I am so skeptical because if a book makes a religion to be fact than wouldn't all religions be fact? Then what makes Christianity better than any other religion? I guess I am just a person who needs facts to believe something, not something I can really help.

Well there is of course an element of faith here, and by reading the Bible you can gain understanding of the religion.
There are examples of God's presence in everyday life. There are historical records of Jesus existing and doing miricles etc. There is an Australian historian called John Dickson, who releasd this book/dvd called The Christ Files, which explores the historical accuracy of the Bible etc.

But how can you 'prove' God? You cannot see him, and He is not a physical being. Science can't prove him, just as science can't prove other things in life, but we still believe those things in life becasue we have faith that they exist etc.

The 'key' is faith.

hmmm...think about this..

You can't see the wind right?
But you can feel it, you can smell it, you can hear the sound it makes when it rustles through the trees...
It's kind of like God in a way...

Because if you try, if you truly want to, you can feel God, you can hear him speak to you, and through you, but only if you let him. And yes it takes a great amount of faith by believing in something that you can't actually see...

Ethical beliefs
Aesthetic judgments
Science itself

These are all things which cannot be proven yet we consider them acceptable.

I think you need to get your human life stuff straight as well. I'm not sure jumping to the first thing that claims to be proof of God is your best first step. ESPECIALLY W.L.Craig. What are the problems that are plagueing you? Have you talked to a councillor (professional) as well as a mentor/relative/parent?

God is so good I'm so happy that you're trying to turn to Him in your time of need. Whatever the hard times you've been going through entail, i am sincerely sorry that you've had to deal with such things and you can know that I'll be praying for you. I wish I could offer you proof of God's existence, simple as that, but unfortunately it is not so simple. Now that you've opening your heart to the possibility of God's love, I believe that his existence will at one time become undeniable and obvious to you. He won't leave you alone to fend for yourself; He will always be holding you in His arms. Listen to "By Your Side" by Tenth Avenue North. And try listening to KLove on the radio...it's 98.3 in my area, I'm not sure about yours, but I do know that it's the Christian radio station that replaced Froggy if that helps you find the number. Try seeking out a church and speaking to a pastor. Other people on here have said try the Bible, but it's hard to interpret the Bible unless you've learned about the general set-up. So if you do try reading the Bible, don't get frustrated if you're not completely sure what you're reading. A pastor could help you with that too. God bless you, Friend

I've got a question.
Why Christianity now? Why not Buddhism or Jainism or Judaism?

And no one is going to be able to convince you that God/gods are real. That takes your own faith(or lack thereof if you choose to remain atheist or agnostic), your own study, and your own mind.

And in my opinion, hardly anyone changes there belief over the internet. If you really are thinking of putting faith into the Christian religion, go to a local church. Join Christian groups at your school and in your area. Study the bible in a bible study group. And like someone else said, read the bible in full. (This has actually turned people away from the religion, but you need to read the book if you want to be a part of the religion.)
No one is going to convince you except you.

And find a support group for whatever you need help with.

Unless the situation is to the extreme though, it seems you need to man up and face it. Ask forgiveness from those around you that know about whatever you did. Make amends with them. Yes, it'll be hard, but worth it in the end. Ask help from a local counselor, friends, family, or anyone else you trust (resort to help line if need be)
I can't say anything more than that since I don't know your situation.
(And don't get offended if I'm a little off about what your situation requires. I was just going off of what you said.)

My mother was in a diabetic coma for 3 months.
We prayed for her all that time.
On Christmas day they were puling her plug when my dad said "Please God, don't take her from me!"
She woke up right that moment.
