BY A 15 yr. OLD SCHOOL KI

Who got an A+ for this entry
(TOTALLY AWESOME)!
Since the Pledge of Allegiance
And The Lord's Prayer
Are not allowed in most
Public schools anymore
Because the word 'God' is mentioned.....
A kid in Arizona wrote the attached
NEW School prayer:
"New Pledge of Allegiance"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene..
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all..
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks...
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong..
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles ..
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen
If you aren't ashamed to do this, Please pass this on..
Jesus said, 'If you are ashamed of me,
I will be ashamed of you before my Father.'
~~~~~~~~~~~AWESOME~~~~~~~~~~

This is phenomenal. Gives one hope for the up and coming generation. Paul Harvey used to find this kind of stuff for his commentary. Showing that not all the world is going to hell in a hand basket.

Thank you for this post. I often become very cynical and pessimistic concerning the future state of politics and how it applies to the American citizen, but, seeing this certainly offers at least a faint glimmer of hope.

.
For this great nation under God
America is no longer a "great" nation. It's a debtor nation; and rather than in-sourcing, it is out-sourcing in order to compete in a world market.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:tongue> </o:tongue>
It's also a bully nation, invading sovereign countries with special ops forces at its own discretion regardless of how the sovereign countries might feel about it.
<o:tongue> </o:tongue>
It is no longer a nation under God. It is a nation under atheism, agnosticism, and polytheism. Hence; pledging allegiance to the Bible's God is blaspheme; especially for people passing themselves off as Christ's followers.

†. Mal 1:6 . . A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect due me? says the Lord Almighty.
<o:tongue> </o:tongue>
†. Luke 6:46 . .Why do you call Me Lord and Master and not do the things which I say?
<o:tongue> </o:tongue>
†. 1John 1:6 . . If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
<o:tongue> </o:tongue>

To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
It's not just schools. I have been censured for hate speech on several Christian internet forums for quoting Bible passages that condemn gays and lesbians and/or criticize Jews. Even women have become a protected species on several Christian internet forums where it is okay to "bash" men but not okay the other way around.

<o:tongue> </o:tongue>

It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong, We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.
Again, it's not just schools. I have been roasted on several Christian internet forums for the very same reasons.

Personally I believe it is time to remove the name of God not only from the Pledge, but also from our money because America no longer trusts in God (if it ever did) but rather, in itself. And the fates of Presidential candidates hang in the balance if they are too much in favor of God's way of doing things and yet, ironically, that is the very kind of leadership a nation "under God" is supposed to have.

Luke 6:46 . .Why do you call Me Lord and Master and not do the things which I say?

What translation are you using?

Anyone can be a Christian. All they have to do is believe they are and say they are. The distinction between “real†Christians and the rest is imaginary. All Christians are real Christians. The only distinction that can be made is whether or not a Christian is in Christ. Many are. Many aren’t. And it’s not our place to replace God and attempt to tell the difference through our own judgment.

If you’re quoting bible passages that criticize Jews, you’re on your own. Jesus didn’t criticize Jews, he criticized Jewish leaders who misused the Judaism given by God.

Personally I believe it is time to remove the name of God not only from the Pledge, but also from our money because America no longer trusts in God

Atheists definitely agree with you. And so do I, but for a different reason. I agree with one of our greatest Presidents in that regard who was against putting the word God on money because he felt it’s an insult to God. As far as the pledge, since so many do believe in God in America, and so many don’t, it should be left as a moment of silence option, up to the individual. That way everyone is happy and no one has to go against their own beliefs. As an Atheistic nation, America would be within its rights to take the reference to God altogether. Religious would still be free to use the phrase in their own educational institutions which by law the State must leave alone.

America no longer trusts in God (if it ever did)

America has never actually trusted God as a nation. America has always been an Atheistic nation. Don’t tell the Christians who imagine otherwise. When the Constitution was created, the leaders of several states had to fight just to get the Bill of Rights on the agenda. In which is the well known first amendment, the only mention of religion in the whole constitution. And all it says is that the State will keep its hands off religion. Thank God for that.

Yet the Churches have special tax status, as tax free corporations. How they managed that bit of lobbying I’ll never understand. A status which in my opinion helps neither religion to be more godly nor the State to keep their hands off as instructed. And it’s Christians who are trying to interfere with the state run Public School System (that Creationist thing). If the state run schools don’t want any reference to Creation in their own schools, then the Christians should just start their own school system that allows and that the State can’t do anything about by Law. That Christian interference is something that may some day come back to bite them in a place they won’t like.

2Sam 23:2-3 . .The Spirit of The Lord spoke by me, and His word was on my tongue. The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me: "He who rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God."

Don’t know why you quoted that. Written specifically to Israel, which at that time was a Theocratic State. “The God of Israel said.†Neither America nor the present State that calls itself Israel is even close to a Theocratic State. Today the only Theocratic State isn’t visible as a State and the ones who are supposed to belong to it do what’s right in their own eyes today. Simply because they’ve chosen to follow a man-made religion that calls itself Christianity. That invisible Theocratic State is Spiritual and is the Kingdom of the Son, in which all who are truly in Christ are a part. There’s only one just ruler today who rules in the fear of God. That is Jesus Christ. It’s up to the ones who are in Christ to follow that Just Ruler. Seems only right since one day they’ll have no choice. Jesus forces no one. But as a beneficent dictator, the very opposite of tyrant, who sits on the right hand of God, he knows what’s best for us anyway. All he wants us to do today is show that we truly love him by following his commandments. Whatever Jesus tells us through the Spirit/spirit connection, that’s what we should do.

The young man above has the talented potential to become one of the greatest poets America has ever known. He already understands how to put the right words together. He should be given all the encouragement available.

I don't really find a big deal with America persecuting Christianity. As long as we know what we are doing is right, then it is left to God to judge those who have wronged us.

The lyrics speak for me and I pray they speak to you.

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE LAMB
BY RAY BOLTZ

I have heard how Christians long ago
Were brought before a tyrants throne
And they were told that he would spare their lives
If they would renounce the name of Christ.
But one by one they chose to die
The Son of God they would not deny
Like a great angelic choir sings
I can almost hear their voices ring.

CHORUS:
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
With all my strength
With all I am
I will seek to honor His commands
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb.

Now the years have come and the years have gone
But the cause of Jesus still goes on
And now our time has come to count the cost
To reject this world, to embrace the cross
And one by one let us live our lives
For the One who died to give us life.
Till the trumpet sounds on the final day
Let us proudly stand and boldly say

REPEAT CHORUS:

To the Lamb of God who bore my pain
Who took my place, Who wore my shame.
I will seek to honor His commands
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb.

There is no law banning people from praying in schools. There is no law banning Bibles in school. There is no law banning Bible Study Groups in school. There is no law preventing religious or Bible lit in schools. The pledge was removed, but I don't think that changes anything. The school can't lead a prayer in the morning or events. That's it. A moment of silence for people to do what they want replaced school led prayer. There are ocational moments of percussion in schools to some christian beliefs, but its not a vendetta.

California's gay marriage ban was recently overturned in Federal court.

Both houses of Washington State have now passed bills to legalize gay marriage.

None of the above would ever happen in a nation truly under God.
<o:tongue> </o:tongue>
†. Lev 20:13 . . If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
<o:tongue> </o:tongue>
†. Rom 1:24-27 . . God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator.
<o:tongue> </o:tongue>
. . . Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Agreed, this nation was founded to be run by men ( women, of any race, religion, etc.), with the freedoms to be part of any religion we choose, or hold any philosophical or world view position we choose. Our government has rights in place to protect individuals no matter what gender, religion, race, nationality, or creed the person follows or is a part of. Our founders escaped theocracy and settled in a land where instead of divine command, we had representation by the people. Even if many founders did have religious beliefs. This is a situation where if the justifications of a ban would favor a group or groups at the expense of another, then its unconstitutional. That's about it.

Great post!

My son came home from (public) school one day and told me they were learning about the Muslim religion. Yet, they won't teach anything Christian at his school. I don't understand how they can do this, it is really sad. This country is going downhill. If they can't/won't teach Christianity, then they shouldn't teach any other religion either.

Where they teaching the rituals and guide lines, or the historical impact of Islam?
