As I am just about ready to head off to bed I just figured that I would post this while I was remembering it and just in case I forgot again and I needed to come back here and read any responses. Is it normal that I'm a twenty-eight year old woman and I'm still troubled by nightmares when I have them? The thing is most of my nightmares have to deal with Joe dying or the devil trying to get ahold of me and hurt me and take me to Hell with him. Now I know that can't happen since I am in Christ, but a lot of the times I still wake up shaking and in a cold sweat and I have to turn on the light again for a little while before I go back to sleep. I feel rather embarrassed by it too that I still have to do that and grab ahold of my old stuffed dog tight. Does this, or him as this ever happened to anybody else or am I the only one? How can I stop it? Please help!

HIR,
If your other half died, then no but tell, is it abnormal for a 73 year old veteran to still be having nightmares? Mine are certain battles and the goings on of desperation found there. I have screamed my wife out of bed over the night we were overrun. I must hhave screamed at one of the new men to get down in that hole before they kill you. The one I hate the most is where I find Heinen, my best friend with his head, eye open sitting in his bookcase staring at me.

Yours, remarriage to a loving young male Christian should fade, given love and understanding. Just remain in Jesus.

It's possible you sleep too much. Consider the following information.

Too Much Sleep Linked To Frequent Nightmares In REM Sleep. ... Nightmares are more likely to occur in the final third of the night due to the REM stage getting longer during each sleep with the final period lasting up to an hour.Aug 1, 2017

Begin twelve hours of hard labor until you drop, sleep for fours, rise, eat, bathe, and whatever, and repeat that schedule and you won't have time to cry about scary dreams. :)

I don't know what causes us certain dreams or nightmares. It seems I've read a gambit of theories ranging from random flow to the brain intentionally working out unresolved issues. I don't think anyone has proven a connection.

If it is the latter, where your unresolved fears are being worked out, you need to pray that our Father releases the bondage they have on you during your conscious hours. You've spoken of your struggle with fear for your fiancé while you are separated. Whether or not they are related, I pray you find His peace which surpasses all understanding and trust in Him for his safety. That will certainly ease your walk during your waking hours, and your nightmares might then subside as well. Win-win.

We can't control our dreams and sometimes nightmares can stem from various events in our life that stand out more than others. My dreams always seem to be defending myself as to the things I believe that others reject like they see me as an odd ball as I don't go with the flow.

Ya, I recognize him, but not into those type of movies. Give me a good comedy or love story any day.

I hope I'm not derailing this thread with this question. It's related. Does anyone have first hand experience with lucid dreaming. Our one daughter is very interested in this, and I'm very leery of it. It sounds like it's bordering on occult stuff, like they're tapping into things they should not.

Hi Mike,
A lucid dream is a dream during which the dreamer is aware of dreaming. During lucid dreaming, the dreamer may be able to exert some degree of control over the dream characters, narrative, and environment.

Last night I had another nightmare that demons were trying to possess and it really scared me. Not to mention that I also found out some disturbing news about Joe that I'm going to mention in the prayer thread that I started for him.

You know they can not posses you, but it could be a subconscious thing about your concern about Joe and what he is getting into. Are you able to have visitation with him and if not you need to write him about your concern with what he is reading so that both of you remain equally yoke when you get married.

Oh I guess you already heard then. Yeah you're right. Tessa told me that I should try getting him interested in reading other stuff instead. Most importantly, the Bible. I think that it was very good advice too. She always seems to give good advice. Gotta love her. :)
