Hello :) I was looking to update my profile and I noticed that you guys have two questions determining whether someone is male or female, but I cannot spot where to change "Are you Christian?" from No to Yes. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks!

Dear Kathy, as far as I can tell, only Administrators can make those changes. As such, I have tagged the four of them to read this post.
Blessings in Christ Jesus.

It is either in the page you used to sign up with and you missed it, or a moderator that approves your account looks at the about you, and what you filled out and checks the box for you.

We get all kinds of spammers and folks that claim to be saved only to get a voice here and sell us something or attempt to change our minds about God.

If you just P.M a Moderator like Reba or Eugene I am sure it will be fixed for you.

blessings.

Mikey, what we see here sometimes are people who want all the benefits and privileges of being a Christian without the label of 'Christian' and the persecution that comes with it, so they have 'No' for being a Christian as their way of protesting against what the world perceives to be a bad name. It's good to see Kathy is not afraid to suffer in the name: "(I)f anyone suffers as a Christian, (s)he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name" (1 Peter 4:16 NASB).

Well, only a fool would be ashamed of Jesus. How sad many won't even mention his name at work. We don't have to preach at work as that is not what we are getting paid for. Saying Jesus is my Lord though, should not be an issue.

So somebody deletes my post, doesn't tell me why? I had a valid point. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter and it shouldn't matter to other people who you worship. That's between you and God. Also, the world would truly be a better place if everybody quit cramming religion down others' throats.

That is done by design. It is a configurable option. The decision was made many, many years ago to take the ability to change from "YES" to "NO" out of the hands of the Members (who, in my opinion, should have full say about their personal profiles).

Years ago, some nice Admin made an unsolicited change to my profile. I became specified as "MALE" after that change. The Admin (who has since stepped down and is now a Member only) reasoned that all Moderators (I was a mod then) SHOULD be able to visit the gender appropriate locker room on the site. A moment ago I wanted to check if I had any choice of saying Y/N for "Are you a Christian" and no, we don't. It's not that we couldn't, we could if an Admin wanted us to, but I seriously doubt that we ever will.

The upside was that I was able to go back to "Not Specified" regarding my gender. No worries. I'm still male. Just getting more persnickety as I age, is all.
