The news and politics section was shut down and now we get doctrine classes. Is someone trying to control the masses?. Lol. If its just bible study and we can share our opinions and ask questions without censorship then no worries.

:lol Dan we are on a Christian site.
Can't see how we wouldn't be allowed to give opinions or ask questions.

I know people have good intentions and I also agree each to there own. Im not saying it will be anything crooked.

Tessa, you said this is a Christian site, do you know how many denominations and doctrines there are branched off under the name Christianity?. What one is our teacher?

No I don't know how many Dan, I would think many.
There is only one God, and one truth. Not one of us has all truth, and all of us must be wrong in some things. That is why it is important for each one us to keep on praying, studying the bible and growing in Christ. We always pray the Holy Spirit will guide us.
We all believe Jesus is the Son of God and our Saviour. It is good to talk to each other about our faith.
Don't you like the idea?

I think study classes are good where people can discuss and talk and share. I think teachers are good, its good to have a leader, but there is a difference between leading and controlling, thats where humans go crooked.

We've got one teacher in the pipeline and I'm working on another.

Were still hashing out the particulars, but you will have to ask to become a student before you'll be able to post, and the teacher will have full mod privileges in that forum only.

We understand that everyone wont agree with any one teacher, but just like attending a college class, we expect a student mindset and the teachers will be shown respect in said classroom.

We really hope it takes off and we can get more qualified and diverse teachers.

And classes are a unique environment...

One person is the teacher and a group are the students.

One has the job of teaching and the others: the job of learning.

Teaching is a difficult skill set to obtain. And we are fortunate to have one. And it takes time to instruct others. Curriculum needs to be made. Step by step lessons each building upon the others. At first the lessons seem easy but gradually the lessons become more involved and built upon the foundational "easy" material to become really hard core stuff.

Seminary educators are special. Students are going to be tasked with showing "Berean" skills. Study, read, and gain mastery of the materials presented. Its real work involved in learning. Respectful questions are to be expected. But some questions may be outside the scope of class work. (People love jumping ahead and sideways)

So relax...and when classes become available either StoveBolts or I will give you access to the school forum. But I'm super duper excited about this. Just ask any of the other mods...they can tell you how I've been talking about this...a lot. And it's almost here.

I'm repeating Jeff here a lot...but I'm super excited.

I would think that learning how to learn more would be a central theme in these classes. I'm not exactly a teacher but that's what I learned a lot about in college.
