I take tons of vitamins. It's my Do-it-Yourself (DIY) Orthomolecular protocol. I think the combo has helped me in all aspects of my life. It's not a replacement for meds ((I take --4-- psych drugs, every single day)), but it makes the meds work better. Basically, I get more mileage out of the pills and 0 major side effects. Let's here it for mega vitamins!

Just putting this out there for you, in case somebody might be interested. I'm --no-- kind of expert, and I'm not offering cures or treatments for any major problems. I just think Orthomolecular has been quite helpful for me, and I think it might be helpful for other people, too.

Check it out, when and if you feel so inclined. :)

Nice little site. Yes, I first got introduced to Orthomolecular ideas in 1979 reading a lot of 60's Rodale books. They knew about nutrition way back in the 50's, even about Folic Acid preventing difficult pregnancies and birth defects when the rest of the medical world merely dismissed it all as a proto-healthfood freak philosophy. The big Pharmaceuticals rather promote medications that the latter part of Revelation 18:23 warns us about. Anyway, a few short years ago when it was announced that folic acid did indeed prevent birth defects, the same liberal news media (who were just as certain Hillary would win LOL) acted aghast in amazement like this was some sort of new revelation. No.... it's because they were all spoiled drugged-up brats who would not listen for a few generations and now they have to raise their "special needs" kid (no sympathy from me over that one).

Rodale Orthomolecular always pushed gram dosages of vitamins C, E, B3 (Niacin), B6, and B1 for schizophrenia--- what do you know? The same nutrients they are now pushing to prevent heart disease! LOL

I don't think the media is all that liberal or whatever, I just think drugs of all sorts are a big money maker and the accepted way of handling just about any health problem.

The vitamins help my mental problems, definitely. I remember trying to make a go of things on the psych drugs, no vitamins, back in the day. That's one reason I got on amphetamines (by prescription) and started popping the downers like candy; I couldn't tolerate the drugs that could actually ameliorate my core symptoms. Antidepressants made me more depressed, so I got a prescription for Ritalin, then Adderall, to elevate my mood.
Even the most modern antipsychotic around used to give me tremors and twitches and everything else. Now, I take a high(ish) dose of Abilify, and its like the best of both worlds: the Abilify helps reduce the worst of my problems, while the vitamins seem to be boosting my body overall and are hopefully doing something good with my brain.
Of course, I"m just 1 person. And my situation is somewhat unique, because I was also bashed on the head and given 2x involuntary shock "treatment," so my brain was (is?) damaged, and not a little bit. So, Christ's direct work in my life (I believe so, anyway) + carefully selected drugs (for now...) + Orthomolecular= remarkably normalcy.

Its sad, how alternative health is looked on as "quackery," until suddenly it becomes "cool" to do research on the supplement of the month. Coenzyme Q10, green tea extract, etc. And then they move on to the next supplement.

Orthomolecular is cool because it can be DIY and you can throw in pretty much whatever you need and/or want, within reason. The dosages are flexible, too, which is great. I now take 20 grams time-release C (10 AM, 10 PM), and I'm feeling a lot better. I thought B3 (I take the niacinamide version) was supposed to be the anti-schizophrenic main player, but for me, going up to Linus Pauling levels on the vitamin C has helped tremendously.

OK. I'm finished now. Thanks for your reply.
