I am in the market for a good digital antenna to mount outside. Periodically we do have winds that will exceed 30 mph, and the range needs to be 60+ miles. Anyone have any suggestions? Many of the ones I have found seem rather flimsy and would only last a short while. Looking for something that is durable and will handle being in direct sunlight in temps over 100 degrees.

I'm also going to be looking for a digital antenna, and having done a search Best Buy seems to offer different models; inside and outside, and with digital I'm not sure there would be much benefit in having one mounted outside.

I didn't remember if you lived in Bakersfield or Fresno, and of course everything outside of San Diego is somewhat like an armpit of California. Here's a URL link to the one in Fresno you might check what they have or recommend.

I actually live right in between both of them. I have found some at Walmart, and have looked at Newegg a bit online. Not much of a selection.

Prior to the law requiring digital signaling, around here using a UHF antennae we were only able to pull in two analog signals. I decided to try putting an amplifier on the system involving a preamp on the antennae and a 120v signal amplifier in the house. After doing that we got over 20 UHF channels. After the change in the law we are still using the same setup and last week I rescanned and picked up over 40 digital channels plus two local analog channels. The signals are coming from as far as Fargo, ND (about 120 miles) and the twin cities (about 150 miles).
