Sorry I don't have time to play PC games or any game for that matter. I stay pretty busy playing guitar or doing something around the house. I use to play Delta Force and EQ. But I stopped by two years ago.

I think my wife would hurt me really bad if I was to play games all the time. You know we men are weak when it comes to our wives LOL.

not really pc player but i like to play on the system like X box, ps2 and gamecube. I am not a hardcore gamer. But I am somewhat hard to beat when I get use to the controlls.

Besides a computer. what system do you have Christian web.

ahh, computer games! The greatest game of all time is hands down Thief: The Dark Project. I've never been so completely consumed by a game. Or so scared. I used to play that game every day for about 2 years. It was my second religion :) . Then Thief II came out. It was actually a real disappointment. The first games I ever played (this was way back) were the Kings Quest series on DOS. I've been obssessed with role play ever since. Ever played Morrowind? Or Neverwinter Nights? Those are a couple of the new games that I've been blowing humongous amounts of time with lately. Oh yeah, Alice was a pretty good game too, but It lacked something... I can't put my finger on just what. Good times though, good times.

Thats TWO towers mike. And I'd thank you to remember that

So is the game any good? I was checking it out at GameStop the other day and was very tempted to buy it. How much "creative liscense" do they take in straying away from the actual story of the books? For the PC the operation specs are pretty high. I don't think I've seen a 600 megahurtz requirement on anything but Everquest, so I'm assuming the graphics and sound are pretty rad.

Thanks for the correction, 'tis be one of those times where the pen be swifter than my mind.

The Two Towers was an excellent game. Graphic detail is second to none, movie clips in between levels, and the dialogue stayed right with the movie. I rented it, but soon hope to buy. You get to play out the characters of Gimili, Arogorn, or Legolas at any level and pick up experience points and skill moves with every completion. There are some secrets to find and I always liked the good :biggrin vs. evil  battle.

007 Nightfire is a great game with the typical Bond-esque game play. Some new underwater levels and the nornal objectives for each mission. Three levels of game play (trainee, normal, 007) so if you're ever feeling a bit cocky, try thr 007 level. More intimate scenes and suggestive gestures from the ladies  would be the only reasons why I would not to get this game.

How about you, Garret? Any suggestions?

Mike,

I don't have a playstation 2, but for the pc I can recommend The Dark Age of Camelot; the only downfall is that you have to pay for internet membership. Also, both Thief games. Thief may be kind of controversial in the Christian world but nonetheless it is an amazing game. And if you get into games you'll probably end up getting very scared. The object of the game is to not kill people or get caught--bascially, to be a really good thief. You're naturally weak compared to the guards and doing stuff like dropping a can or running on tile is comparable to commiting suicide. The guards and police take no prisoners  . I guess I'd recommend MDK 1&2 also. They are excellent games. You have this awesome sniper scope that you can shoot aliens with up to a mile away. The story is basically nonexistent though--you just kill stuff :biggrin . Oh yes, a very violent game that is kind of funny is Shogo Mech Warriors. I got sick of hearing the people scream as they died, but you get to control this humongous robot machine of death and stomp on little people  . Plus, you battle other mech warriors and have some pretty cool guns. Not the best game but the idea of mech warriors is cool imo. Hmm. I guess I should of asked if you even game on the PC. Well if you do that's what I'd recommend.

I have gamed on my PC, but I haven't in a while. I have seen the previews of the Thief games and they looked good. I also heard of a game when you can play God and build people as good or bad, select leaders, and have holy wars, but I can't think of the name. As for others, I feel I'm to far out of the loop to recomend any PC games.

Mike,

Yeah, that's Black and White. I haven't played it myself but it looked rather humorous. Especially the idea that you can make these huge holy wars and punish your people mercillesly. Such wanton blasphemy!! I guess on the whole people ought to take an idea like that more seriously but it does have a twisted sense of humour behind it I suppose... You could probably start a whole discussion here on morality and computer games but frankly, I like my violent games.

 Hi everyone, I was just curious why you people like to play violent games. I am always after my husband about it. Am I wrong to think that it is not the thing to do........Dee

I can't say for sure. I mean, I can't pinpoint one exact reason why I enjoy violent games. I would agree with anyone who says we ought to draw the line somewhere. Personally, I couldn't stomach the idea of playing Hitman (but man does the cover look sweet 8) ). I suppose I enjoy violent games because, umm, I get to shoot people with guns. Okay, there is no way to really justify the idea, but I still enjoy them. Its fun. On the other hand, the game I enjoy the most, Thief, is best played when you don't kill anyone. The object of the game is to enter and leave a mansion, fortress, whatever without anyone noticing and in the process jack all their stuff. Admittedly not moral in principle also, but then, who would want to play a "moral" video game. In the words of the Doctor in MDK there would be only one way to describe it: "Boring!"
