I wasn't sure where to put this one at first but since it's food related I figured that I would put it here. As somebody who was never forced to finish her plate or eat anything that I didn't like, I'm wondering, should this issue be forced on kids? Why or why not?

my parents tried to accomodate me, within reason. I would think that'd be the way to go, unless the kid has some kind of problem getting adequate nutrition or something. even then, " you get more flies with honey," so I don't know if -forcing- a kid to eat right is the way to go.

True, but on the other hand it could cause health problems if it was severe enough and the child could wind up being really underweight and or starving to death. So then, I'm not sure what the proper thing to do would be.

im not an expert, but if a kid is refusing adequate nutrition, i don't think the -real- problem is that they're "picky eaters." my guess would be stress from the home environment, school, bullies, etc....something like that...
