"Please convert me!"

That's something you won't often hear unbelievers say. It seems that many unbelievers seem to think Christians are out to "convert" them and I'd like to disagree.

Being a Christian means having a love relationship with God through His Son, Jesus. Who "converts" to a love relationship?

Think about it. When you met your spouse or bf/gf, did you "convert" from being single to loving that person? No, you just fell in love. So it is with Christianity.

I propose that both unbelievers and Christians stop using the word "convert" to describe the amazing, wonderful, lifechanging love relationship that can be had with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen, Jojo! :)

Only God can convert a person to belief in Jesus. :yes

Grape juice is converted into wine as the sweetness(free gift of justification/forgiveness/love)interacts with the bacteria(leaven of the Pharisee that is in all of us). This is a war and the bacteria/yeast must die and sink to the bottom. The carbon dioxide is released and escape from the liquid, little by little leaving a converted sugar molecule(alcohol) within the grape juice.

When the love of the Father in Jesus Christ(sweetness) comes to us that is the beginning of the warfare with our old man(bitterness of leaven).

When the basic fermentation process is finished, then you have new wine. New wine is more intoxicating than wine that has gone through a process of aging.

The worship of God in Christ Jesus processes just like the making of wine. Sweet wars with bitter. Death and balance. Aging for the maturity. Too much new and drunkenness(spiritual) occurs more easily. Age mellows all things, even the intoxicating power of our doctrine.

For those who think of wine making as sinful, please consider that the digestion that occurs within the human body operates from the same principles. It is the same balance with sweet and bitter, with nourishment and residue.

Wisdom has mixed her wine. Proverbs 9.
