Hi, I'm new here and need help. I'm very, very depressed. I don't feel that I can pray because I've messed up terribly and am sure God won't hear my prayers so I'm asking that you pray for me. I don't want to go to church any more. Not only that I feel like such a hypocrite, but there is also a lot of contention in my congregation, and we hear a lot of different views on topics so it's confusing. I want to find the church where people understand God's will and can help people like me.

Thank you for your prayers and for your thoughts in reply to my post.

Hi and welcome Brother LightHouse. I'm not sure what could possibly separate us from the love of God, but if there were I would have proved it time and again. Who is it that the LORD will not impute sin (Rom 4:7-8), and scripture in Heb 13:5 where it's said, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."

This is the time that you can go boldly to God's throne of grace in Heb 4:16 that you may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need, and if conscience is convicting you due to you own condemnation (Rom 8:1), 1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Dear Father, you hear the prayer of this dear brother, and know the depression he feels. Please hold back the forces of evil affecting his spiritual walk, and restore the blessings he can have again in just believing you. Thank You Father, and I do ask this in the name of our Savior Jesus. Amen.

How did you mess up?

I've lost my temper several times, using vulgar words and throwing things. On one occasion I used God's name in vain. My anger has been mostly directed at my family, and a couple of times at others. I become uncontrollably angry and act/speak before I realize it. I've been feeling depressed due to failing health and feel like I'm descending into psychosis. I messed up again yesterday. I know God doesn't hear the prayer of a sinner so I again ask that people here pray for me. Thank you.

Dear Brother Lighthouse, Having called upon the name of the Lord (Rom 10:13-14) makes you as righteous as any, not by what you have done, but what Jesus did, and are invited to boldly go before the throne of God's grace (Heb 4:16) that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Dear Father, please come in with healing for our brother needing Your help at this time, and lead him to experience the peace that passes understanding even in the midst of the storm he's experiencing. Thank You Father, and I ask this in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.

Just a quick question, have you ever suffered a brain injury or infection of the frontal lobes?

Lighthouse, if God doesn't listen to the prayers of sinners then we're all doomed. Every one of us is a sinner. It doesn't matter what the sin is. People like to categorize sins as big sins or little sins. God doesn't do that. To him, sin is sin, no big or little involved. None of us can make it on our own. We all need the savior.
Jesus told his disciples to forgive someone not 7 times, but 70x7! If he expects us to do that, will he do less? 1John 1:9 tells us that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If you confess, you WILL be forgiven. You have his firm unchangeable promise on that. Sometimes the hardest thing to do, though, is to forgive ourselves. It can be extremely difficult to learn to see ourselves as he sees us: loved, forgiven, washed, cleansed, and sealed with his seal of approval for all eternity.
Remember what John 3:16 says: "For God so loved Lighthouse that he gave his only begotten son, so that if Lighthouse believes in him, Lighthouse should not perish, but have everlasting life."
When you read your Bible, and you come across passages like that, put your own name there. Personalize it. It is God's promise to YOU!
My advice is to learn to personalize the promises in Scripture. God loves you. Always has, always will.
You may wish to see your doctor about your emotional issues. Sometimes a hormonal imbalance can cause symptoms like you are experiencing.
I shall keep you in my prayers, brother!

When ever you feel bad about things that you might have done jut remember:
Jesus forgave Peter after he denied Him, the third time with curses.
Jesus personally called a Pharisee named Saul, a man who persecuted the church and had believers killed, to spread His Gospel.
If God can forgive these man and call them to be Apostles, anything you might do can and is forgiven.
