Composing a post for the Theology Forum and having to flip back and forth between sites to get Verses to reference and copy and paste is a LOT slower on an IPad than a desktop. I keep running into some sort of a timeout error where a post that I have been working on disappears while I am getting the supporting references. When I come back to the CF tab, it reloads the page and everything I was working on is gone.

Is this an IPad issue or a CF timing issue?
Cause I am really tired of losing 60% of responses mid post.

I'm on a desktop and when I write to a post and don't finish it, whenever I do comeback, my post is still there. So you must be talking about doing this on an Ipad...

I will try it with my iPad and see. I post a lot from my iPhone and don't have the issue, and it uses safari like the iPad does.

Are you using a browser that will allow multiple tabs? Maybe that can be helpful because you don't have to actually leave the site but just toggle to the other tab to get your references. Just a thought.

    It should auto-save a draft.

I don't have an ipad. Anyone else that can test this?

Ok, I am on the iPad. Much bigger screen than my phone. :)

I just went over to another page and copied this passage, no hiccups here.

We love because he first loved us.

Then I just minimized the browser, typed in notes, and opened up the browser again. Nothing has changed so far.

Now I just took a 10 min or so break, got back on, doesn't seem to be any thing wrong.

I'm gonna guess it might be an issue with the device itself.

Maybe wait over an hour. 10 minutes isn't past our session time.

    I'll try that tomorrow.

atpollard how much time does it take before you experience the issue?

Ten minutes sounds like it should have been plenty of time. I tend to go back and forth doing a word search in one window for a passage and then cut and paste back to the response that I was working on. So it is back and forth until the CF page just suddenly refreshes like I just opened it and the post-in-progress is gone.

I guess it is THIS iPad.
(Stupid technology. You know, when I first started working as an Architect, I worked with an old man who would tell stories about scraping the lamp black off the glass cover on his oil lamp to make his own ink ... I bet his words never disappeared!)

Nick and Nathan is there a setting that can be toggled to turn on and off autosave for posts? Mine are always saved, even when I start to post and back out. Even if I delete everything I have typed and back out of the thread, the text I had entered remains and it's there grayed out when I return. I wonder why that isn't happening for atpollard.

Nick may know offhand, I'll have to dig tomorrow to see. I have never seen a setting though.

You made me think though, I am going to assume that the auto save function runs off cookies? If a program is running that disables or blocks certain ones(maybe an anti malware?) it may not allow the auto save to function.
