hello reba, dirtfarmer here

OK. Thanks
Just curious. Do all of your texts and emails start this way too? When you go to type anything on your phone, does it auto-correct you with, "Hello, dirtfarmer here"? :lol

hello Mike, dirtfarmer here

I had a smart phone once and found out I was too dumb to use it, so I went back to a flip phone. That is the way that I have always started my post and it is hard to change with my age.

I've always liked it. I think it has the effect of disarming someone you may be in disagreement with a bit. We shouldn't be upset with people we disagree with online, especially when we're displaying our faith for the world to witness, but some people can get edgy.

hello Mike, dirtfarmer here

Thanks for the encouragement. If we are living as Christ would have us to, should we get "upset" or "edgy" when other disagree with how we believe? Or should we change our beliefs because some one told us that we are wrong? If our beliefs are based on the guidance of the Spirit as we understand it, and we have compared scripture with scripture, then we need to stand fast on our beliefs, but give reason as to why we believe as we do with scripture reference. There have been many changes in my beliefs over the years as I have allow the Spirit to guide in my comparing scripture with scriptures.

I may not have done the best explanation job with the limited knowledge that I have, but I have been true to my conviction. I have understood for some time now that as a believer my only job is to preach the word. God never gave me the ability to convict; that is the Spirit's job according to John 16:8. I will have to admit that in the past I have tried to force conviction of my beliefs on people, but here lately I have expressed my beliefs several times to a person and then stop conversing on those subjects because it seems as if it was an argument. Scripture says that we are to always be seasoned with grace.

Again, thanks for the encouragement
