I got mama another bottle of this hippy vitamin+antioxidant mix that's supposed to be the best thing ever for skin and hair. I also wrote a concise, heart felt (hopefully not saccharin...) letter.

I bought the vitamins because I've been into this "alternative" vitamin supplementation thing for years now, Orthomolecular. Its massive doses of common, safe, vitamins and antioxidants, combined with conventional treatment for what ails you, if needed (that'd be an 'atypical' tranquilizer for this "Bipolar I" guy...). There's a lot of interesting Orthomolecular material out there, and they say that --everyone-- needs to take supplements. My parents aren't keen on supplements, so I got these hippy beauty pills so mama would at least get the modest doses of basic vitamins that are in it, plus the antioxidants (here's hoping it works as promised...).

Thing is...well, I was praying, and I realized: I was expected to be dead about 10 years ago. I had irreversible premature aging. I'd scarred my follicles. I had obvious, in-your-face brain damage. Now...I'm in my early 30s, healthy, look a tad younger than dudes my age, too much hair, and I'm smart enough for my goals, no obvious brain damage whatsoever. This adds up to a big ole miracle, of course, and...

...vitamins can't do that! ((thank you, captain obvious...)) The Lord has chosen to be extraordinarily kind and merciful to my parents and me, not to mention unbelievably patient, all the way through.

Oh, and my dad invited me to go with my parents on a trip somewhere in a couple weeks. See what I mean? I was unbelievably wretched and...ugh...and now my parents are taking me on a trip with them for some quality family time. This is The Lord in action in our lives, and I'm just now beginning to genuinely appreciate His goodness.

So, there you have it...a Mother's Day Praise Report from loverly South Carolina. :)
