Me, yet again. Per Scripture's instructions, I've been praying for the leaders of the US. Clearly, I lean (very) left on most issues, so Donald Trump as Prez is kind of...well, beyond a disappointment, not yet quite a total and complete nightmare.

Anyway, I ask that those you who pray regularly take some time and pray for the leaders here in the US. Even though the US isn't the unquestioned super-power it once was, the leaders here clearly have an effect on people in other nations throughout the world, so...

...probably a good idea to pray for the US leaders even if you're in another nation. Personally, because of my own life experiences, I've taken to praying for judges, juries, grand juries, people in prison+jail, people on probation and parole, people charged with running jails+prisons, the people who supervise those on probation+parole. The way I see it, the more mercy and compassion people with authority here can show (by the Grace of God) on those whose lives they control, the better.

Thanks. :)

Hey Brother Christ_empowered; me again . . . :)
I read this concerning our Father: Mat 6:8 . . . your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Now if we're to pray for our leaders, God has put them into power for our good, and/or His purposes, and then we read in 1 Timothy 2:2. (Pray) For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
WHY? Could it be that we're the ones that are to align with God's will for us, and without submission to His words we'll not benefit with the peace we could have had in what God is doing?

You make the statement of leaning left. Why left or right? Do you really believe politicians of any party are there to really do you good? :wave2

hi eugene. good post, as usual.

i lean left largely because of my upbringing and life experiences. its very hard to be amongst the least of these, especially in the united states. its so strange...we have all these millionaires, some billionaires, then it seems that there's lots of poor people and even more people just scraping to get by. im not after a socialist attempt at utopia, but i do think reducing inequality would be a good idea for almost all citizens here.

im not all that political. the way i see it, you have corporate-owned democrats who spout "progressive" ideas to get votes. i do think they're far better than the gop--i view them as social darwinists--but i do not believe any politician is in the business of helping (most) people. it seems that the democrats are just far more likely to invest some $$$ in social programs. based on my reading, it seems that these programs make life better for a lot of people, and its often money well spent in terms of pay off over the long term.

other than that...I know, at some level, that God has reasons for putting Trump in the position of President. Why? I dunno. Looking at how many people are involved in various forms of protest against him and also the GOP in general, sometimes I think maybe appointing this person as president might be God's way of getting a lot of us to see that our culture needs to change a bit, and not just when it comes to political and legal stuff. we have way too many people in jail and prison, too many people trapped in poverty, too many people dying of drug overdoses...things are crazy, and Trump+friends aren't going to help. At all.

OK. Thanks again for your post. :)

good point. Kind of...how Cuba is "egalitarian" and such under the Castro regime, and yet...Fidel was worth hundred of million$ at the time of his death. Some people are just more "equal" than others, it seems.

Still, in terms of voting and such, I always go Democrat. I'm not so deluded as to think they represent me or the vast majority of Americans, but I do think they're the only reasonable option for most people.
