Can I get some of you Brothers and Sisters to pray for my two sons, please? As you know, I left them in Colorado when I moved here to Ohio. They were on drugs and had even stolen some things from me and all that sort of stuff. I've since worked through it and forgiven them but I haven't been able to get a hold of either one in a couple months now so have been a little worried and also praying for them.

My younger son is actually in jail right now. Full blown prison as I understand it. I have continued to text them both hoping that, they just werent answering. But my older son (The one I planted a bunch of seeds into!) answered me last night finally. He told me that had both got in trouble for drugs after I moved, and they were both on some sort of probation with PO's and urine tests and all that. My younger son messed that up and they slammed him for 18 months! He's been in since April and if he doesnt get in trouble he will be released 5 days before Christmas this year. My older son did not mess up, has been clean for a little over a year and he has a job and stuff and his own place. I think he said he is still going through drug court (whatever that is?) and is determined to stay clean. Praise the Lord for that. But my younger boy sure could use some prayers, and more than just mine! In his inmate picture he looks very fit and big, but he needs to get on the right track.

I'm a lot closer to my older son because he is in my trade and when we worked together and rode around in the truck together I talked about the Lord a LOT and one time (I've written a testimony about this here before) he had a warrant and we were on our way to do a job and he got pulled over and said, I'm going to jail...and I said no way I need you today (I can no longer hump water heaters up and down basement steps alone) so went into prayer immediately. He kept insisting that he's going to jail for old traffic ticket fines that he didnt pay. Something came over me and I just refused that he be arrested...(thereby acting in faith), so the Lord responded to that and answered my prayer. The officer came back after running us and said, I see you have a warrant Deen. But I can see that you guys are going to work right now and I respect that so am not going to arrest you and you have to promise to take care of those fines...(Praise the Lord!) :sohappy

and my son looks at me and says, wow there really is something to this God stuff, isn't there?...So the Holy Spirit has something to water there...I think my older son will be ok.

But I'm not as close with my younger (the wild one) son. He's in a different trade, and after his mother divorced me he kind of didn't get along with me so I've not been able to plant seeds in his heart or mind. So I need my Brothers and Sisters help from here. Agree with me and send up prayers for my younger son, please! He has to live through that being in there, and go clean after he gets out. AND come to the Lord somehow....

Please Help. Thank you.

Just prayed for your elder son Edward that he will keep in touch with you and follow in the Lord's footsteps. I prayed that your younger son keeps out of trouble and is home before Christmas. Also that he keeps clean now and I asked for the Holy Spirit to speak with him. And to answer your prayers in all you are asking for your two sons.
God Bless Edward and may the Lord be with you and give you a special blessing.

ugh. legal system...drugs...not good. I don't know how you do it here, but where I live...-some- of the more "progressive" (read: urban) judristictions have drug courts and mental health courts. Both are ways of avoiding jail and/or prison on some offenses, for some offenders. Both usually involve treatment, often thru the public/community mental/behavioral health system, which...can be hit or miss, it really depends on a number of factors. I wouldn't be too, too hard on your imprisoned son...just speaking from my own experience in the community mental health system, sometimes the "professionals" power trip on people, especially more vulnerable people. Here, they have the drug+alcohol cases over at behavioral health, which is just mental health...under a different name, I think they don't use psychotropics as much. anyway...

overall,I think both drug court and mental health court have been proven effective in actually helping people change and also saving $$$ on more punitive measures. So, I'm glad its worked for 1 of your sons. :)

"God knows right where you're at." that's what Verna always says to me. She's correct, of course...so I'm telling it to you, now. I'm pretty sure drugs are evil. So is the war on drugs. Its just...dirty bizness, that's all.

OK. You and your sons are in my prayers. I hope+pray The Lord reaches your imprisoned son, and I"m thankful for HIs work in your life and your other son's life, too. :)

wow - awesome testimony of God's power on your oldest son

praying in agreement with you and everyone else here for the goodness of God to cause your youngest son to repent and come clean with God and with everything in the wonderful name of Jesus - Romans 2:4

Praise the Lord. Your son can't earn money to pay the fines from jail.

May the Lord grant you wisdom in talking to your sons.

some states have warrants available online. did the cop tell you what was going on? not paying fines w/ probation can be a violation, but not always. where i live, even in probation violation cases, the defendant had -some- legal rights left, and (I found this surprising, given how rough southern states are on people...) -inability- to pay fees is not a "willful and substantial" violation of probation, so the officer is supposed to work -with- the probationer.

i don't know if that helps at all or not, but thought i'd try to contribute. getting arrested for an additional charge on probation is a big, big problem...in some states, even if the new charge ends up dismissed, the officer can still make a case for violating probation. ugh.

you and your sons are in my prayers. :)

Thanks Brother, but that was a while ago. He has paid off those fines now. They just werent then. After I moved away, they both got into trouble for drug possession. The older one is doing ok and hasn't got into trouble again, and my younger son did. I guess he peed a hot UA. I'm guessing but thatr's prolly what it is.
I have his case numbers. I bet I could look it up somehow and get the details...
