Baking powder was one of my choices.The place has just been professionally cleaned so it is not an issue of it being dirty at all.Just some kind of lingering smell.The house is from 1977 so it is older.I also looked up on line and alot of people say charcoal.They have small bags of natural charcoal on Amazon.I might do that.

you could rent...what are those things called...ozone machine or something (/). My dad had one for my old place.

There's another product, I'll try to find it online. I can't explain how it works but it is amazing. One of the clients I did books in her home was a tofu cooker and the smell was actually adsorbed into the paper invoices we mailed. Just sit this product in a room and it absorbs all odors and lasts a very long time. It is used in industrial settings as well and by smokers.
It may be charcoal based but I don't think so.
This move has been rugged.There are steps and more steps.I saw on-line a couple of remedies for the smells.One of them is vinegar.Another one is to cut up some lemon slices and put some whole clove and cinnamon sticks in a pan with some water and let it simmer.I am worried that I will have to deal with mice.I found a mouse trap in the house.But that is to be expected if you are on that much acreage.The house I am currently living in was infested with mice.I got rid of them so I hope I will be equally successful in this house.
I met the owner which I thought was odd.He is also the repair guy.He is a very,very attractive man in his mid 40's (maybe).He has the most gorgeous blue eyes I have ever seen.He said he was an engineer.

Me too, I like the traps that the mouse goes inside and I don't ever see it's little dead body.

We've always had a small mice problem. They have an entry around plumbing pipes even the ones that have the chrome ring sitting on the floor around the pipe. I didn't know that they were strong enough to push up on these and get in until....we put down ceramic tile in our kitchen. We have a gas range and at night when very quiet I heard a little ting ting noise and saw our cat hunched down in front of the stove. My husband slid up the ring around the gas pipe, stuffed steel wool in the hole around the pipe and then filled it with that foam insulation that comes in a can. That's been a few years ago now and no more problem there. We also discovered last winter that they were coming in around the pipes under the kitchen sink but couldn't get to the holes because of the cabinet base. We could get to the section of the base on the open end by taking out the drawers, that they were using to get into the house. He installed a board blocking the entrance. Huge difference!
I use those too but they are expensive.Also mice hate peppermint.If you put a drop on a cotton square they will not come near the area.And if you know where they are getting in their is a critter soft wiring to put over the area that they can not bite through.
