Am presently awaiting an appointment for an echocardiogram to determine if a "moderate" heart condition has progress to the point of heart valve surgery. They couldn't take me for this until late October. Hopefully..it has not progressed and I will not need surgery. Will update after the echogram and cardiology appointment. Thanks so much..appreciate prayers. Trusting God on this.

Scheduled now for late October. Thanks for your prayers. :)
Hope it all goes well.
I'm not sure if you have kept up on the latest, but depending on the situation, they can replace a valve without cracking your chest open which is huge!

I've spoken with a lot of people who have had new valves put in and they all say that after recovery and getting their meds straightened out they feel much better.

Yes, my cardiologist and I have discussed this. They do it differently than years back (when they went in through the chest) and recovery is not as long. Would prefer not to have surgery at all, and may still not need it, because any kind at my age is risky, but will do if it comes to that. Thanks for your prayers. :)

No problem and I understand your anxiety. I see my cardiologist each year...

Not really anxious, just careful. I am 81.
Wow, I had no idea! Your very young at heart!
For me, I used to be very active until several years ago. I was a runner and I was in training for wrestling. Years prior my cardiologists told me not to elevate my heart, but I did not listen. It put me in the hospital and I had a pretty big scare. Thankfully I got a second opinion...
Needless to say, I've gained about 20 pounds and my running / wrestling days are over if I want to live to 81.

I still bycicle with a heart rate monitor that I watch.

You'll be in our prayers and you'll have to give us an update.

P.S. if you do need surgery, can they go in through the ribs, or are they cracking you open?

Just asking for prayers for now as I am facing another echocardiogram to check the condition I have had for years.
Praying surgery not necessary. Will share more but that's last of October. Truly believe God's got this. Blessings to all. You are a super nice, caring group.

Update: it has taken this long to get the echocardiogram and results back. The heart condition has gotten worse so now the cardiologist who read the results is recommending moving on to a cardiology surgery clinic.. He seems to think that I am a candidate for newer techniques rather than the usual through the chest type of valve replacement. Further tests will determine which and whether or not. Right now I am recovering from a cold and lung congestion so need prayers for that as well as what lies ahead with this. I thank you for continued prayers. So much of this involves the needed support of family and others..Please pray that will work out as well. Thanks so much.

Your in our prayers, and I am excited to hear they will not have to crack your chest open and your a candidate for the newer type surgeries.
I've read they can make a small incision between your rib for the valve replacement so recovery is super quick.
