Well maybe not concrete proof... but its still some great info from an unbiased source.

I was reading through a book by one of the foremost occultic philosophers and mystics of this past century- Manly P. Hall. I came across this little tidbit from his book "The Secret Teachings of the Ages":

"Levi (Eliphas Levi) himself did not dare to assert that the specter which appeared to him was actually the great philosopher, for Levi realized only too well the proclivity of elementals to impersonate those who have passed on. The majority of modern mediumistic apparitions are but elemental creatures masquerading through bodies composed of thought substance supplied by the very persons desiring to behold these wraiths of decarnate beings."

I guess this is actually TWO very famous occultic sources: Manly Hall and Eliphas Levi. Its hard to discount a statement like that when these are guys who actually converse with spirits/demons. It is two mystic's honest opinions on who or what they are conversing with. Manly P. Hall claimed to stand for light and truth. It is a wonder how he put stock in beings that he admitted were dishonest:shame

Still its a very useful quote to share with anyone who believes in ghosts or friends that may be into psychics or the occult. I had to share

The title is misleading. No proof here, and "proof" is a powerful word. It should have been "Opinions of two men on whether Ghosts are real". :shame

The paranormal is real for alot of people, my nan used to have two flint cottages knocked into one, in the middle of now where, by a wood across the fields, tilley lamps, a well for water.

one christamas some one saw some one walk pass the window.
they went out with my uncles gun, chum the dog, there were foot prints around the house in the snow, but led of no ware.

old man ward had drowned in a pit near by, returning from the pub,

i found a pocket watch , while digging the garden there, cleaned it up, quiet old, put it next to the bed, in the morning it was gone.

another time i was sleeping on the other side of the house, i heard this awful blood curling noise through the walls, thinking what the heck is this,

in the morning i mentioned it to my nan, she laughed, it was my grandad gurgling water.

i had a friend whose english was not very good, he crashed his motor bike,

i asked him what had happened he said pointing to his front wheel, he had hit a Ghost,

i got to the bottom of it, it was a goose.

Another dark night my nan heard some thing in one of the out buildings, chum, the dog, started to growel, she went back in picked up a gun,

said right i know you in there, ive got a gun, im not frightened to use it, it was four paratroopers on exercise from stampford battle area, on training, gave them quiet a fright, my nan invited in, made them a cup of tea and some egg and chips,

they would be dropped of , then they had to find there way back, with out getting court, probaly didnt tell their mates they had been, apprehended by a little old women with a shot gun.

I was doing a milk round, it was in an electric milk float, going down a country lane about 3am in the morning, i little bit of an errie place in the dark, botestale common,
i had the light on in the cab, just gave out a little bit of light, i was leaning on the stearing wheel, just drundling along, half awake,

when out of no ware almost eye ball to eye ball this face appeared, in that split second, like the face of a fantom.

i let out a yell, and jumped out of my seat.

it was a barn owl, but boy did that make me jump.

Another incident me and a friend were on his motor bike, i was driving,
it was a bit misty, night time, again along a country road, passing near a grave yard, when i was suddenly aware of some thing white about the size of a head, coming up to my head, from the right,
again taken by suprise, got a responce.

my friend had taken his crash helmet off, held it out then brought it in, it was effective, under the circumstances,
he was then laughing so much, almost uncontrolably at my responce,
it was a wonnder we didnt stack his bike in a field.

i heard a story at sea, where some one had died, so they put him down in the chiller area, until they reached port,
there was a young lad on board, who had plenty to say for him self, you know the type, they sent him down, to fetch some supplies, he came running screaming out of the chiller,

one of the cooks had gone down covered him self with a sheet, you can guess the rest.
The young lad wasnt quite so chirpy after his thriller in the chiller.

A host of ghosts and things that go bump in the night have been reported to police in Cambridgeshire.

Eerie visitations from phantom children, a dog barking at spectres in a garden and creepy noises coming from next door have all triggered 999 calls by terrified people.

Almost a dozen apparitions or supernatural voices have been reported to the force control room in the last two years, data released to the News under the Freedom of Information Act revealed.

A resident called officers in May 2008 to report lights in the sky – but the MoD said it was just a low-flying aircraft.

In June 2009, it was reported: “Unusual noises coming from a neighbour’s house – ghostly.” Officers mounted a pincer movement in a bid to trap whatever was out there – but left it to environmental health officers to investigate after finding nothing.

The report added: “Our resources split, with one in one house and one in the other. One heard the noise, and the other did not. Environmental health dealing.”

In November that year there was a chilling report made about a child screaming/crying in a field at the bottom of the garden of a house.

This was accompanied by the house owner’s dog barking towards the field at the back of the house. Officers searched the area but found nothing, saying “locals believe it is the ghost of a child”.

Some of the sightings were put down to mental health problems.

In May this year one person reported seeing ghosts/images. Also that month a local foreign male went to the inquiry office at Parkside police station in Cambridge to report he had been “talking to ghosts”.

In June, a woman asked for help with ghosts in her head and called the police twice.

In July, a Cambridge resident reported hearing voices and officers reported: “Thinks it’s a ghost”. One report was made in July by a woman saying a child was in her lounge who had been killed in a car crash.

Police said: “The lady is having counselling.” In September, a man told officers ghosts were in his house. The caller was apparently “well known to police” and had made several reports. That month a man reported “people in his garden”.

The report said: “No evidence to support this – caller admitted he believes in ghosts.”

There was also one report of a UFO in Wansford, which was passed on to the Ministry of Defence.

Sorry, this is more than just the opinions of two men. I think you would be hard pressed to find a more authoritative recent figure in the occult world than Manly P. Hall. The man had a vast understanding of the occult and also conversed with the spirit realm, moreso than anybody watching Ghost Hunters on SyFY- so yeah, I don't think their opinions should be weighed equally. He also founded the Philosophical Research Society in 1934 which contains over 50,000 works on religion, mythology, metaphysics and the occult.

Johnny Botwright:

I think you are misunderstanding my meaning of the word "Ghost". A ghost is a being from the past who is reappearing in the present... trapped between dimensions- is the popular belief. Here Manly P Hall is stating that "Ghosts" (for example a ghost of a civil war soldier in an old plantation house) is in actuallity a lying spirit. He is saying that there are spirits on the other side that are lying about what they really are. He's saying psychics on tv are wrong about the identities they give the haunts in the houses they go through on shows like Ghost Hunters. Hall calls them masquerading elemental spirits. You and I would probably call them demons, pretending to be from the past or past loved ones ect.

Amusing.:lol

One day you will see a ghost;)
People who don't believe ghosts exist probably don't believe there are demons.

If you want to see a ghost, man, just let me know.

Question: "What does the Bible say about ghosts / hauntings?"

Answer:
Is there such a thing as ghosts? The answer to this question depends on what precisely is meant by the term “ghosts.†If the term means “spirit beings,†the answer is a qualified “yes.†If the term means “spirits of people who have died,†the answer is “no.†The Bible makes it abundantly clear that there are spirit beings, both good and evil. But the Bible negates the idea that the spirits of deceased human beings can remain on earth and “haunt†the living.

Hebrews 9:27 declares, “Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.†That is what happens to a person’s soul-spirit after death—judgment. The result of this judgment is heaven for the believer (2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:23) and hell for the unbeliever (Matthew 25:46; Luke 16:22-24). There is no in-between. There is no possibility of remaining on earth in spirit form as a “ghost.†If there are such things as ghosts, according to the Bible, they absolutely cannot be the disembodied spirits of deceased human beings.

The Bible teaches very clearly that there are indeed spirit beings who can connect with and appear in our physical world. The Bible identifies these beings as angels and demons. Angels are spirit beings who are faithful in serving God. Angels are righteous, good, and holy. Demons are fallen angels, angels who rebelled against God. Demons are evil, deceptive, and destructive. According to 2 Corinthians 11:14-15, demons masquerade as “angels of light†and as “servants of righteousness.†Appearing as a “ghost†and impersonating a deceased human being definitely seem to be within the power and abilities that demons possess.

The closest biblical example of a “haunting†is found in Mark 5:1-20. A legion of demons possessed a man and used the man to haunt a graveyard. There were no ghosts involved. It was a case of a normal person being controlled by demons to terrorize the people of that area. Demons only seek to “kill, steal, and destroy†(John 10:10). They will do anything within their power to deceive people, to lead people away from God. This is very likely the explanation of “ghostly†activity today. Whether it is called a ghost, a ghoul, or a poltergeist, if there is genuine evil spiritual activity occurring, it is the work of demons.

What about instances in which “ghosts†act in “positive†ways? What about psychics who claim to summon the deceased and gain true and useful information from them? Again, it is crucial to remember that the goal of demons is to deceive. If the result is that people trust in a psychic instead of God, a demon will be more than willing to reveal true information. Even good and true information, if from a source with evil motives, can be used to mislead, corrupt, and destroy.

Interest in the paranormal is becoming increasingly common. There are individuals and businesses that claim to be “ghost-hunters,†who for a price will rid your home of ghosts. Psychics, séances, tarot cards, and mediums are increasingly considered normal. Human beings are innately aware of the spiritual world. Sadly, instead of seeking the truth about the spirit world by communing with God and studying His Word, many people allow themselves to be led astray by the spirit world. The demons surely laugh at the spiritual mass-deception that exists in the world today.

They don't necessarily need to reside on Earth to be summoned here. Personal anecdotes from my Wiccan days aside, it is entirely possible to summon spirits of the deceased. In fact, the Bible has an example of this, with king Saul using the Witch of Endor to summon Samuel.

However, it's VERY dangerous and people who don't know what they are doing are far more likely to bring forth some deceitful demon than their missing loved ones or a "friendly spirit guide" as they assume. Keep away from it.

Also, we're commanded not to, which should be reason enough.
