That isn't supernatural.

who says God has to to some great thing.. that is miracle

of course would you not then let me shoot you at point blank to just to test that statistic that some round wont fire and call that a miracle when it doesnt.

it bet that if a bullet in close range missed your head. you would be saying it was a miracle that you lived.
or that the bullet hit your skull and glanced and didnt kill you that too woulndt be a miracle.

just shear luck.

you dont see till it meets your standards

you would call God of the bible evil if he came to visit the earth and starting killing men in front of you that he said they will die as i sent my prophets to warn them and they havent listened so i will slay them today.

and he does just that.

yet that wouldnt be enough for you.

i know that thats in 1 john 4 but i was stating that from a scientific point tis faith that all religions work on, none can be proven false or verified by the scientif method.

I have no idea, but I do know it isn't necessary. Healings can be easily verified, and I have seen that! I know a man who was utterly sterile where his body absolutely produced NO sperm at all, father a son after God told them they would conceive.

I personally knew a small 2-year old (now an adult) whose kidneys were full of cancerous tumours and was healed by prayer to the oncologist's amazement. A little baby born with a deadly heart defect and underwent surgery against all odds and nearly died several times suddenly burst forth in health. She is in school now and the picture of health...why? Because of tenacious prayer and calling upon the promises of God.

What we as King's kids know by our faith is more solid than a rock.

I do have to see to believe. Actually some times I still don't believe after I see it, and want to see it again. If you want me to believe demon possession, or telekinesis, or faith healing is real then I want proof.

All the stories I hear of healing or possession can't be confirmed. The people had no obvious problem. They felt "oppressed" God heals headaches and lower back pain a lot, but never burn victims or Downs syndrome, or amputees.

This is a sincere question so please don`t take it as sarcasm or anything bad, but if you have to see not only once but sometimes twice before you can believe, how in the world can you believe in God or the Bible when obviously we can`t see God, and the Bible from start to finish is filled with miraculous things? To believe God and His Word requires faith more than evidence in my opinion. As for healing and casting out demons, how do you explain the healings of Jesus and the demons He cast out? Do you believe these even though you have not seen them? By the way, it is not that I "want" you to believe in faith healings, etc. What you believe is your business as far as I am concerned. I just am baffled at how you can believe in God and the Bible when you can not see the evidence of so much of what is written. I wonder what your faith and beliefs are based on. I am not here questioning your beliefs, I am just wondering "how?" you can believe without seeing since seeing is essential for you. I just can`t imagine so my questions are sincere.

I believe in God in that I find it the logical conclusion.

I don't believe in the God of the bible. I spent a lot of time in church when I was a kid, and while not a bible scholar I get the gist of it.

I don't trust the story of Jesus as divine superman either.

If God wants me to believe in certain things, and behave in certain ways or face some eternal torture then God should come tell me.

lol, yes God should worship you, shouldn't he. that would take the effort out.

if you want the truth you have to seek it.

the same as righteousness. it won't just fall out of the sky and on to your head.

Thank you for your honest reply and not getting offended by my question. Obviously I believe differently, but knowing where you stand makes things much clearer for me and probably others as well so I think communication can be smoother this way. For example, knowing where you stand, I can spare you from giving a string of examples and scriptures of Jesus` miracles to you since that would probably mean little to you. It also puts my mind at ease because I honestly could not wrap my brain around how a Christian, which I was assuming you were, could believe the Bible and Jesus without believing in the miracles written throughout the Bible. That actually disturbed me inside, but now I understand and my mind can relax.

God has already told you, but you reject His truth. Too many people have this same kind of self-idolizing attitude and it doesn't jive with salvation.

He has loved you since you were nothing.

Well I don't think the God this guy is referring to is going to torture me for everlasting hopeless despair because my great great great great times 1000 grandfather Adam ate an apple. Or not believing in him or the apple story in the first place.

I am not going to burn forever for not taking the KJV literally.

Do you know Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour and have you made Him Lord of your life?

Those who have never accepted the Saviour will meet their forever in hellfire. They may be honest to goodness great people, but they will be unknown to our Father. Being flippant about the scriptures doesn't paint a great picture.

How does one know Jesus? How do you know its Jesus at all?

One simply believes what Scriptures say about Him, and in faith believe Him and in Him, and His sacrifice for one's sins, for cleansing, which effects salvation, and begins a personal relationship with the living Christ. He makes Himself known through His word and through His people.

Coffeelover has already stated he/she is not a Christian so your first question is answered. And by not being a Christian he/she probably is not so concerned about painting "a great picture" of the Bible. If Coffeelover were claiming to be a Christian of course this would be a great concern for all of us, but knowing where Coffeelover is coming from (a nonChristain point of view), I think we have to understand the comments from that frame of thinking. It does not mean we personally accept these ideas, we have our own clear beliefs which I am sure Coffeelover realizes and accepts, but it means we do not expect a nonChristian to follow our same frame of thinking. Someday Coffeelover might join us and share our beliefs but for now Coffeelover is not there.

Thank you...I didn't know if coffeelover was a professing believer or not.

How does one simply believe? I find the the stories too outrageous to take seriously. Talking snakes, eternal Hell fire, science and knowledge is an illusion.

Don't worry about how to believe. It is a choice, and we cannot believe without God drawing us to do so, and even then, people can choose to completely ignore Him.

I understand that logic, but it is faulty

Why is it impossible?

Laws can be broken, just because we as humans aren't capable doesn't mean that other beings aren't

God is a supernatural omnipotent being, why can't he create eternal hellfire

Satan is a spirit why can't he make himself a snake

As humans we take our five senses as the whole truth....when we know they are faulty. There are things we can't understand or compute.

Why is a talking snake hard to believe?

Because you never saw one?

Is that good enough?

That's actually worse, you would have to travel the whole universe to say there are no talking snakes, until then your guess is as good as ours...No better

Thank you...I didn't know if coffeelover was a professing believer or not.

I was confused at first too, but thankfully Coffeelover cleared it up for me which I think makes communication much better because the way we respond to a professing Believer and nonBeliever is very different. With a Believer I just respond expecting them to believe the Bible so we can communicate on this mutually shared and respected foundation. There may be debate on how to interpret some scriptures but at the end of the day we both believe those scriptures and cherish them. With a nonChristian as you know we have to communicate on a different level and we can not expect them to believe and cherish God`s Word. It simplifies things when we know where someone stands!
