Looking for an answer :fadein: See 1 Peter 3:15[/b]

As I read the Adventist Review for July 2005, William G. Johnsson (is the editor of the Adventist Review) says on page 4 about the church in their 58th General Conference session in St. Louis has...

Quote: "The agenda for the St. Louis session likewise shows the driving force of mission. Example:
A new fundamental belief. The fifty-third GC session, held in Dallas, Texas, in 1980, spent the majority of its time and energy on the fundamental beliefs of Seventh-day Adventists. Out of this important deliberation emerged a new and expanded set of beliefs, numbering 27 in all.

The St. Louis session will consider adding a new fundamental belief on Growing in Christ. The proposed statement has been considered by the world at various levels and has been available for impute by circulation in the Adventist Review and Ministry magizine, and on the internet."

OK: What is this new statement of faith that I seem to have missed in my Adventist Review? Are their any Adventist on here that know what it states? 'Growing in Christ', what does that mean to the Adventist Leadership???

Just one 'old' passing thought from Volume 4 of the testimonies for the Adventist Church, pages 211-212.

"These men who have been trusted to keep the fort have well-nigh betrayed it into the hands of the enemy. They have opened the gate to the wily foe, who has sought to destroy them. Men of experience have been seen stealthy hands slipping the bolts that satan might enter, yet they held their piece with apparent indifference as to the results. These people do not realize that God holds them responsible for every advantage gained by the foe who is admitted to the fort, The following, lie at the door of the unfaithful sentinels who by the neglect become agents in the hands of the adversary to ruin souls to destruction."

And what about the membership ones here on this forum?? This new statement should prove interesting to all here? And no, I do not know what it is, that seems to be reported, and has been made openly available? Can I take a guess :sad

*********
John here:
I asked a Seventh-day Adventist minister about the 1990 G.C. session one time & he replied that he does not read the Adventist Review world magazine.

And the ones on here? (this site) Seems that they too are seen in Ezekiel 37?

Whatever, huh? :sad 'Believing in keeping the Sabbath alone' saved Israel of old too, huh? Matthew 23:38 & Revelation 3:9.

If I'm not mistaken (and I don't know too much about this new belief) is the emphasis on spiritual warfare and demonic oppression/possession.

I'm not talking Catholic views here but that there hasn't been a real emphasis (though like all other Christians, it has been believed in) on the spiritual warfare aspect of our sanctifying walk with Christ.

It is merely reiterating the power and presence of the devil and his minions in our spiritual walk with Christ. This forces us to take our walk with Christ seriously relying on his power to 'resist the devil and he will flee from you'
