Hey folks,
It may be that i just dont get it , but i cant find the "like" button on some sections ?
Somebody joined (made an account specifically) to help me find answers and i instinctively wanted to thank/like the persons posting for it, but in his (or her? ) post there is no "like" button at the bottom.
Maybe it's because it is the person's first post ? or is the "like function" only switched on for some subfora?

Cheers~

Some sections, like the debate areas, do not have that feature enabled to hold down divisiveness that can arise in those areas.

I also don't understand the "like" feature very well.

Can I click on Like and then still reply? Is it used only to denote that I like the comment, but then I don't reply?

Also, doesn't this kind of discourage conversation??
One would just click Like, instead of answering.
Just a thought...

Wondering

You can like and reply if you wish. The two features (like and reply) are independent of each other.

I don't think it discourages conversation. It discourages me simply replying to your post with a +1 or "I agree" post, which really clutters up threads. I may like your post, then reply to expand my point. Or if i'm simply scanning a thread and see a post I agree with, I can simply 'like' it to share support with the member.

Almost all forums with modern software have the same or similar feature.

not all forums have like buttons and we dont see them on our posts...
The "Authority of the Law: Romans 7" thread in the Bible Study forum has many "liked" posts, but I have no "like" button. Jethro said the "like" function is working.

This seems rather odd.
Does it only apply to that forum, or only that thread?

I have a like button in this thread. It seems as though I don't have a like button in an Bible Study thread. I tried several.
