Someone donated a working 2010 Apple iPad 1, so I got right on it. With 1\4 gigabyte of RAM and a single-core 32 bit Atom chip, this touchscreen device easily surfs the web and plays YouTube videos. Its 9 1\2 inch screen is bright and clear.
You have to buy an Apple card to download games and other aps, but it rejects most of them as they are too powerful for it to handle.
Starting with iOS3 (not the same as the full OS that regular Apple Computers use) it received a free upgrade to iOS5 before Apple dropped support.
It is very easy to figure out and we connected to our Wi-Fi with no problems.
I consider the $70 Amazon price for a used one too high, but that is within the range of pawnshop prices (in Mexico) for similar devices. When new, it cost $499. My opinion? $10 is a fair price, with $20 being the max.
