Has anyone read a good book they think I would like. With books costing so much, I kinda like to know if it would be worth laying down the $20 or more they cost now. :biggrin
Any one read "Deliver Us From Evil" by Sean Hannity? I was thinking about that one.

Iain M. Banks: Use of Weapons.

'Tis a greatly fun book.

What's So Great About America, by Danesh D'Souza.

Hannity seems a little simplistic to me. His radio show is so repetitive and one-sided. This book by D'Souza has some GREAT points and lays out why we should be proud of our country and not so incessantly negative like the Michael Moore's of America.

Iain M. Banks: Use of Weapons sounds a little bloody for my taste but I think my DH would like it. Thanks.

I told my friend what you had recommended and he said, " Danesh D'Souza from the American Nazi Poop Institute? Are you crazy, you don't want to read that."..

Now I clearly don't know what that means but I think I will just appeal to the women on the board to help me. :biggrin Something a little more feminine in nature, maybe...I won't to be able to sleep at night. :-?

what on earth are the men on this board reading..scary.....

You think it's scary that I'm reading a book that discusses America's acheivements and accolades written by someone who immigrated to this country from India, was part of Ronald Reagan's press staff, and is probably smarter than you, me, and anyone we know? That's scary. :)

After reading your comment, I recommend reading Charlotte's Web, by E.B. White. The issues discussed in this book probably are more at your level of reading anyway.

sheesh.

OK, that was a lilttle harsh. But I hope you get my point that just because your "friend" calls Danesh D'Souza a Nazi, doesn't necessarily make him a Nazi - (in fact he is about as far away from being a Nazi as anyone could be) and that maybe you should make the judgement yourself before slamming me for reading it.

Wow, didn't you read my next post..Apparently not...I like the book...

This was just uncalled for and rude...like my remark prob sounded to you...I meant it as a joke....but I can see on hindsite how you would think It was uncalled for..... I don't even clearly know what the heck he meant...really...what nazi has to do with this book escapes me...now the poop part might show up on the down the line if it should get boring....I'll let you know... :)

Ps.....I loved Charlotte's Web....winnie the pooh too....

I like the Alphabet series by Sue Grafton, and a couple more but I don't know the authors
Dee Henderson is good too
the alphabet series has a little profanity in it, but overall it good

'Stupid White Men' by Michael Moore. And its only $9 at Target, where I work. I recommend it for everyone contemplating the state of our nation.

Not my cup of tea, but thanks for the recomendation. I'll pass it on to my freinds who are voting for Kerry...they'll love it. They think he is funny and right on...I think he is a creep and the best reason I have ever seen for birth control.

Dee Henderson

I'll have to check this author out...I read a lot of Joan Hess...murder mysteries are my favorites.

Oh please...Maybe you and michael Moore would be much happier in Cuba or France. I'll even pay your way :smt039

Are you serious?

Will you really pay my way? My wife and I have been trying to move to France for a couple of years and can't afford it. Please tell me you were not just joking...

(I'm dead serious).

Or, if France is too expencive, we'll take Canada. We're only a 4 hr drive away...

Would you take MM with you when you go, please. France deserves him. :biggrin

I dunno... it depends on whether or not you nice loving Americans will help me get out... :) did I ever tell you how nice you all are?

No i'm not serious. It's a figure of speech. I don't have that kind of $$. If I did, I wouldn't mind sending you off. Have you considered Libya? It's much cheaper than France

I like anything by Louis L'Amour, Mary Higgins Clark, Sue Grafton, Agatha Christie, Greg Iles, and others.
