Depending on the battery life on your phone, and how you use it, will determine how often you must recharge your phone.

I have a LG G3 and with moderate to heavy use I find myself having to recharge it two or three times a day.

What experiences have you had with what type of phone?

I own a Samsung Galaxy S6; if I use my device for extended periods throughout the day, this could consist of browsing the Internet to playing games, I too find myself charging my device a few times a day. If I use my device merely for sending text messages and phone calls, the battery could last a couple of days at best.

For sure, I'm a power user, and I have an LG G3, too. Knotical, you know all of the bloatware the carriers force you to run on your phone. Whether you are using it or not, all that junk they won't let you delete sucks the life out of your battery. That's the main reason I root. I get rid of all that stuff, and I have much better control over how any of my apps drain my battery. The biggest difference is having the ability to force deep sleep on my phone if I'm not using it. That said, batteries continue to hold these phones down. My screen on time (SOT) is about 5 hours. With the time it's off and on, it lasts about 8 or 9 before I have to charge it.

That is why I use the battery doctor and clean master. When I want to play a game or something it will automatically optimize my phone by freeing up ram. It will also alert me if apps keep restarting so I can shut them down.

P.S. Solution: Don't use your smartphones.
This is what I've learned to do and it works really well!
I find your solution offensive. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I recently upgraded from a Galaxy S4 to Galaxy S6 Active and what a difference! With my usage habits I had to charge my S4 at least once daily. Obviously I don't use mine near as much as you all. I damaged my S4 and had to upgrade and decided on the S6 Active. This phone comes with a 3500mAh battery and at the end of the day, I typically still have between 80% and 85% charge left and I'm not using any battery saver mode on this phone like I did with my S4. I do not use auto display brightness but rather choose to set it to about 25% which is adequate most of the time unless I'm outdoors and then it's a simple swipe to brighten it up if needed. I used my S4 the same way.

I don't know the first thing about rooting but one thing I do is uninstall any of the apps I know I won't use. Those that I can't I turn off and clear their cache files. I also restrict background data usage for any app that I don't need running regular updates. About the only apps that I leave unrestricted are my mail accounts, weather app, and my app store so I get updates. I could restrict the app store apps too so they are not actively checking for updates unless I'm on a WiFi network as this would also reduce battery usage but since my battery lasts so long I am not concerned.

The topic of apps like Clean Master comes up once in a while on XDA, and every time the 100% consensus is that they are not only useless, but may do more harm than good. They are said to use more power in monitoring your device than they clear. I can't recall a single developer advocating for them. Just sayin'... I haven't used them in years.

Ban-worthy, if you ask me. I'm not saying anything, because you're the Tech Forum mod. Stop using your smart phones... :hips

Are those programmes applications for mobile devices?

Yup, you can find them in the Google Play store. I use them regularly. The battery doctor optimizes how your battery is charged and will track when you overcharge, do a full charge, and normal charges so you can monitor the health of your battery.

Knotical you know I love ya, brother. I don't want to come off as contrary to everything you say. I'm just really into Android tech. Battery optimization has been an obsolete thing since Kitkat. The last three Android versions constantly do what optimization did for Jellybean and earlier. There are a lot of app developers who generate income from selling ads on their apps that are no longer relevant.

I will have to try shutting down those utility apps and see how my phone runs. One problem I do have is one or two of the apps I have cause my phone to run rather hot. Do you think it is because of that app along with the utility apps running the background causing the cpu to run hot?

Thank you for your reply; I shall look for them on the Google Play Store.

That would be hard to say, as individual devices do vary. It's worth a test run. The only apps I know of like BetterBatteryStats that would show you for sure depend on root access, and I don't think you're rooted.
