Ahh, Gunsmoke. I remember. I remember The Rifleman too. I still like that and many of these older shows is what I like to watch instead of modern tv and all of it's garbage. The Rifleman spoke of God quite often in that show, and following "what the good book says". I think ol' Lucas McCain was raising up his son, Mark to be a good man, fictional as it were...

When they took out the censorship it's like TV gone wild as anything goes. Hubby likes all those CSI Criminal shows, but during the day while he is at work I surf until I find something I like, but it's more for noise than anything as I'm usually always in here from the time I get up until bedtime.

It used to be a whole bunch of innuendo and not much more (a looong time ago, lol) but you're right, now it's anything goes. I try not to watch anything that represents sin in any way. That leaves out most of television, lol.

Alright, I'm really sorry. I just want to apologize ahead of time to all of you boys on here but being a girl Barbie was a HUGE part of my childhood and I listened to this CD so many times it went kerplunk lol :lol Anyway, as I was just lying back and watching the first half of the Anne of Green Gables movie and thinking how stupid Anne was for taking the dare, wondering where common sense kicks in nowadays, I was just wondering how many of you had a penpal growing up? Because now I would think that it would be incredibly dangerous and highly frowned upon giving a stranger your address, and to tell you the truth, I'm actually rather surprised that it wasn't back then.

I don't know if literally being a kid like playing with dolls and stuff is a positive thing but maintening a positive outlook on life can be beneficial and possibly necessary in a functional society because that is where faith starts.

I think that many people willfully trade the child like belief in positivety for the pessimism and negativity that is necessary to prosper in today's world.

They lose the faith that the good guy always wins.

The good guy is God.

They feel that they would rather benefit right now than wait for God to win later and that loss of faith destroyed the world.

Literally being a kid is a very good thing,. but then sooner or later we all have to physically grow up. Luckily for some people like me, we don't have to lose that childlike innocence that's in our hearts. :) By the way, these following shows go WAY back into my childhood lol!
