Revelation 3:10-11 (KJV) – "Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. 11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown."
.
Ah yes, the topic most scholars tend to neglect or avoid when writing about their rapture theories. Though, many pre-tribulation scholars try to use Rev. 3:10 and a couple other scriptures to prove that the Church won’t be here for any of the final seven years of this age. Although, the scriptures they use do not indicate when the rapture occurs in relation to the final seven years. As a former pre-tribber, myself, I know their theory is based on mostly assumptions derived from misconceptions. But I’m very surprised that no one, it seems, in any rapture theory, ever discusses what the hour of temptation is, nor when they believe it will occur, or even how long it will last. In fact, I may be mistaken, but I can’t recall any other scholar discussing these things very much at all, other than maybe skimming the surface.
.
This is not a subject that one can just open up to a certain book and chapter in the Bible and simply read all about it. No, to get a good understanding of the hour of temptation, we must gather facts that have been scattered randomly throughout God’s Word. The Bible contains many mysteries and it’s up to us to learn how to connect the dots. Jigsaw puzzles have many pieces. To complete them, you must keep fitting the pieces together until all of the holes are filled and you can see the big picture. Biblical prophecy mysteries are very similar to jigsaw puzzles. However, before we can start putting the puzzle together, we often have to search to find the pieces first, which can sometimes take years, depending on how great the mystery is.
.
God has promised to reward those who diligently seek Him (Heb. 11:6). So those who are knowledgeable in God’s Word often know where many of the pieces are and they are usually quicker to find them as well. But just like any other puzzle, once all of the pieces are finally found, then care must be taken to fit them together properly, so we can see the big picture. If the pieces are not put into the proper places, the picture will not be very clear. And if we don’t have all of the pieces, the holes will be our clue that we need to keep searching. So without any further ado, I believe I have found all of the pieces to solve this mystery. So let’s put this puzzle together.
.
After reading the passage above, two questions immediately come to mind. First, what exactly is the hour? And second, what is this coming temptation or trial? Some translations may say hour of trial or time of testing instead. But since these terms are used interchangeably, I’m going use “hour of trial” for the remainder of this thread to keep it shorter, and to cut down on confusion. An hour can have two different meanings. It can be either a literal measurement of sixty (60) minutes, which is the most common usage; or it can also be a brief period or short span of time. Then there’s the trial, which is said to be a time of testing for all the inhabitants of the earth, with the exception, of course, of those who will be kept from this hour.
.
If those who are kept from the hour of trial are raptured-out beforehand, as I believe those who are ready will be, then it seems logical that those who are left will be the one’s who will enter into the hour of trial, to be tested. Now, if the people who missed the rapture enter into the hour of trial to be tested, what will they be tested for? It seems the only logical thing that the remaining inhabitants of the earth would be tested for, after missing the rapture, would be whether or not they will take the mark of the beast. If this is so, I believe this time of testing is what God will use to judge them, to determine who will become martyrs, and who will remain on the earth in their mortal bodies during the millennium (sheep); and then lastly, to judge the enemies of God (goats/unbelievers) who will be destroyed for taking the mark of the beast.
.
Revelation 13:16-17 (KJV) – "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."
.
Revelation 14:9-13 (KJV)“Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” 12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. 13 Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”
.
Only four types of people will remain (after) the rapture, the martyrs who will refuse the mark of the beast, Jews or Israelites, and the sheep and goats from the nations that will be judged when Christ returns to judge the nations. If everyone, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave are forced to take the mark of the beast in order to buy and sell, this will undoubtedly become a monumental task that will require a global government. No wonder the beast has ten horns, as the horns represent ten kings. I believe it’s highly likely the world will be divided up into ten regions at the time of the end. Then the ten kings will be empowered to implement and enforce the forbidden mark of the beast.
.
Revelation 17:12-13 (KJV)"And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. (13) These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast."
.
So it appears that the hour of trial that will come upon all of the inhabitants of the earth is very likely to be the same hour the ten kings will finally appear on the world stage. But you would have a very hard time trying to convince me that they could pull this off, I mean, beheading millions of martyrs in just sixty (60) minutes. I would imagine that it would take at least several days to track down, gather, detain and behead the millions of believers who will reject the mark of the beast. For this reason, I don’t think it would even be remotely possible to accomplish this evil deed in a literal 60-minute hour, but it will likely end up being a very brief and brutal time period in the scope of the history of the world.

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 (KJV) – "The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, (10) and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (11) And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, (12) that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness."
.

I believe the strong delusion also relates to the mark of the beast as well, which is made more clear after reading the passage below. The false prophet will pull the wool over the unbelievers eyes with his lying wonders. He will probably make the mark of the beast sound wonderful and say how necessary it is for security purposes, not to mention how it will prevent identity theft, but the real intent will be to deceive and enslave the masses, and to gain complete control over them. It will be a strong delusion for those who do not love the truth and it will seal their fate.
.
Revelation 19:19-21(KJV)"Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army. (20) But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. (21) The rest were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh."
.

Conclusion:
We may not be able to positively know exactly how long the hour of trial will last, as scripture does not plainly say. But it will likely be a short period of time when the mark of the beast is implemented in the world at the end of the age. I believe the mark of the beast will be used as the strong delusion God sends upon the unbelievers. It likely be implemented several days before the rapture, but probably on a voluntary basis. But then after a majority of the people have taken it, then it will become mandatory. Then they’ll start labeling those who refuse the mark as terrorists and arrest them. They will probably offer rewards to people who take the mark, if they turn in their friends and family members who have not taken the mark.
.
Then finally, the time will come when they start putting those who refuse the mark to death, but then the rapture will occur, because scripture says those days will be cut short for the sake of the elect, otherwise no flesh will be saved. But only those who are ready will be rescued in the rapture, and the rest will then enter into the hour of trial. So I believe the hour of trial will begin right after the rapture, at the end of the great tribulation, but it must also come before the second coming, because those who are ready and go in the rapture, along with the saints who will be martyred for refusing the mark after the rapture, will all be returning together with Christ at the second coming. God will not avenge the blood of the martyrs until after the last one is killed (Rev. 6:9-11). Therefore, it is my belief, that the hour of trial will begin near the time of the rapture, and it will not end until the last martyr is killed.
.
Matthew 24:21-22 (KJV) – For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.”
.
I believe Christ will fulfill the fall feasts when He returns, just as He fulfilled the spring feasts in the first century, before He ascended back to heaven. So I believe the rapture will occur on the feast of trumpets, and nine days later He will save the nation of Israel on the Day of Atonement. Then five days after the Day of Atonement, the feast of Tabernacles begins, which may also be the second coming. Many assume Christ’s second coming will occur immediately after the great tribulation, but it will not be immediate. Daniel said these wonders would end after 1290 days from the abomination of desolation. But he also said, “Blessed are those who come to the 1335 days,” so we can plainly see an extra or additional 45 days remaining.
.
Revelation 13:5-8“And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
.
Daniel 12:11-12“And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.”
.
Why are these extra 45 days important? Not only do they allow for the fall feasts to be fulfilled, but they also allow the days to be shortened for the sake of the elect (those who are ready), otherwise no flesh would be saved (rescue/rapture). In other words, if the elect are not kept from the hour of trial (Rev. 3:10), then there would be no Christians left alive to be raptured, because the beast would then overcome all Christians (see Rev. 13:7-8 above). These extra 45 days allow all of the foretold prophecies to be fulfilled, including the wedding supper in heaven, the hour of trial and even God’s wrath after the last of the martyrs are killed. Therefore, this allows the days to be shortened for the sake of the elect, without shortening the appointed 3.5 years, 42 months and/or 1260 days of the great tribulation. This is why I believe Christ was warning that His followers need to be ready.

I must say rollinTHUNDER, you've done a lot of study in Revelation of which I applaud your accomplishments. I agree with 99% of what you wrote. My only thought was the mark of the beast being before the gathering (rapture) of the Elect Bride of Christ. Because the Elect Bride has already been tested with many trials, either tests by YHWH or temptations from the evil one, and has come thru victorious. No need for further testing.

Other than that, you have here a very accurate thread. Get ready for all the opposers of the Rapture, that will be a trial in itself. :hysterical

The Disciples who sat with Jesus on the Mt. of Olives in Matthew 24:3 asked Him three questions, when shall these things be, what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? These three questions are now revealed to us as the Spirit of God has revealed them to John who told him to write these revelation visions down and give them to the Church for instruction and understanding. Matthew 24 is an outline of all things that will come to pass that is revealed in full in Revelations before that of Christ return for His Bride. Those events are called the great and terrible day of the Lord.

There was a question asked in Revelation 6:17 about the great day of His wrath is come and who shall be able to stand? Part of this question is answered in Nahum Chapter One for one example as there are many scriptures detailing Gods great vengeance against His enemies and His mercy on those who are called by His name having the seal of God on them, Ephesians 4:30. Matthew 24 gives us an outline and Revelations gives us the meaning of the outline.

The spirit of Jezebel runs rampant throughout the land spreading lies from the pulpit that seem pleasing to the ears as many would rather believe their Pastor instead of searching and Spiritually discern what they are being taught, Matthew 7: 21-23, John 3-3-7; Acts 19:1-6; Romans 10:9, 10; 1 John 4:1-6.

The first four seals in Revelations are the beginning of sorrows described in Matthew 24:4-26 before that of Christ return. There are three woes to come after the beginning of sorrows. The first woe is found in Rev Chapter 8-9 with the first six trumpets. The second woe is that of the two witnesses in Rev Chapter 11:1-14 as the preaching of Gods word will have come to an end as the time of the Gentiles has been fulfilled in the last person repenting and turning back to God. The third woe begins with the seventh trumpet in Rev 11:15 and will end with the Great White Throne judgment in Rev 20.

The Marriage Supper of the Lamb comes in Rev 19 as at this time we have only prepared ourselves to be His Bride, but not yet caught up to Him. It is not until Jesus returns with His army of warring angels and destroys the beast and false prophet casting them into the lake of fire and Rev 20 sends and angel to bind Satan for a time while all who are in the grave will at that time hear His voice calling both Saint and sinner to come forth as all will be resurrected at the same time as some will resurrect to eternal life and others to damnation, John 5:28, 29.

Those who are Christ’s will be gathered with those who are still alive at His coming and all will be given their new glorified bodies as they will be with the Lord forever. Satan will be loosed for a time as he deceives the nations as he gathers his army to go up to surround the camp of the saints of God, but are destroyed by fire that God sends down on them. Those who were called to come forth from their graves that are not of Christ will stand in His judgment and as their names are not written in the book of life will be cast into the lake of fire after Satan is cast there.

The Church, which represents the bride of Christ through the Spiritual rebirth of John 3:3-6 by that of Romans 10:9, 10, are sealed by the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption, Ephesians 4:30, either asleep in their graves or alive at Christ coming. That day of redemption comes on the last day, John 6:40, when Christ returns and makes an end to all abominations (end to sin) as all Gods enemies will have then become the footstool of Christ, Psalms 110:1; Luke 20:42,43 as they are destroyed forever and remembered no more and then Christ will reign here on earth with all the saints of God forever.

Many teach that the Church will be Raptured out of here before Gods wrath (tribulation), but according to these scriptures the body of Christ who are still alive at Christ coming will be here on earth during the time of the greatest tribulation this world has ever seen nor will ever see again, Matthew 24:21.

Rev 7:13-17 Which came out of great tribulation; fulfillment of the gentiles

Rev 8:13 Three woes are war, earthquakes, and meteors

Rev 19:7,8 We have made ourselves ready by enduring through Gods mighty wrath and refusing the mark of the beast

Rev 20:4-6 These verses show that we went through much annihilation and endured all things before the coming of the Lord.

My reading of the two parts of the tribulation is 2520 days; that is 1260 days plus 1260 days (Which will be shortened so that all flesh will not perish - those elect that will come to God at that time).

How are they described? The temptation to come upon all the world where those ready when Christ comes for them were faithful unto death (Rev 2:10), and those faithfully keeping the word of God (Rev 3:10) are with Jesus in heaven.

The 1290 days of Dan 12:11 where the sacrifice is taken away actually occurs 30 days prior to the first 3 1/2 years of tribulation, and they do not need a temple to be offering sacrifices at that time.
Ezr 3:6 From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt offerings unto the LORD. But the foundation of the temple of the LORD was not yet laid.

Then there is Jacob's trouble of Jer 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble.
Mat 24:21 describes it this way: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Okay, allow me to stop you right here. I've seen some make the case for Matt. 24 & Rev. 6:12-17 are describing the same event, but they are not. I'll cover this in the next thread I post about Rev. 6.

How will he stop the daily sacrifice 30 days before the spring feasts even begin?

The great tribulation begins at the abomination of desolation (Matt. 24:15), when those who are in Judea will flee to the mountains. This is also when Daniel was told the countdown begins for the 1290 days. Then notice, in Rev. 13:5 the beast is given authority to continue for 42 months (1260 days), so it appears the 1260 days will begin 30 days after the abomination of desolation (mid-week).

It should also be noted that both Daniel 12:1 and Matt. 24:21 are describing the very same event and time. Christ called it the great tribulation, while Daniel called it a time of trouble.:)

Dan 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
We have to consider when the abomination of desolation is set up.

Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place.

2 Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (Also known as the antichrist by many.)
2 Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Dan 7:25 And he (The son of Perdition) shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. (1260 days minus 250 days that no flesh be spared. (Mat 24:22).

How do we figure it will be 250 days? Let’s back up to the sacrifice being taken away 30 days prior to the temptation to come upon on all the world, and then consider Dan 8:9 & Dan 11-14.
Dan 8:9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn (the False Prophet), which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
Dan 8:11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away (The False prophet), and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
Dan 8:12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
Dan 8:13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
Dan 8:14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

Let’s add it all up now. Starting 30 days prior to the temptation to come upon all the world, and stretching 2300 days taken from the total 2520 days of tribulation + 30 days equal 2550 total days.
Take 250 days from that and we come up with the 2300 days of Dan 8:14. there are many other such calculations involved as to when the 144,000 are caught up, etc, but I’ll leave off here lest we’re just butting heads. Blessings in Christ Jesus.

It always amuses me that it seems like everyone has a different interpretation of Revelation. When these things do happen, we'll all probably say, "wow, I never thought it would be that way."

Does this mean you do not think that Matthew Chapter 24 has anything to do with the end of days?

We might disagree as many do see things that others might not, but the important thing is that we be prepared when Jesus does return for His Bride. I use to believe in a pretrib Rapture, but the supporting scriptures those teachers use say nothing of the exact time of Christ return for no one knows when that will be. 1Corinthians 15:51-58 and 1Thessalonians 4:13-18 only says at the last trump for the trump shall sound then we will be changed and be with the Lord forever. Notice a couple of points here, the last trump being the seventh trump entails everything from Rev 11:15-20:15. Scripture says at the last trump that will sound, but never states at what point of it sounding that we will be given our new glorified bodies and then be with the Lord forever.

Those pretrib teachers also use Rev chapter 4 to prove we are Raptured before the great tribulation, but nowhere does it say that. The only thing Chapter four speaks of is after the messages were given to the seven Churches John being in the Spirit was shown the throne room of God. Actually it was Rev Chapter 4 that caught my attention for no matter how hard I tried to believe in a pretrib and read and reread it I could see nothing of there being a pretrib Rapture mentioned there. The deeper I got into studying Revelations I found the Church (body of Christ) throughout all of Revelations as I already gave those scriptures in post #4. I wish there was a pretrib Rapture, but I just do not see it happening that way anymore.

No need to flay your braincells about this issue regarding, "which tribber are you".
This is like worrying about "spiritual gifts", or any other theological rabbit trail that keeps you preoccupied with all that non-essential stuff.
After all, when you meet Jesus.... the main thing is going to be, "how many did you lead to heaven", and not "how much did you know about one book in the New Testament".
Soon enough all this is going to be answered specifically so that there is no more debate about it.

See, The world is burning, & gays (homosexual sex) is legalized and given "civil rights.: IN THE USA.
No other "sign" is necessary to realize that Jesus is about to crack the sky.
He IS coming so very soon.

Ah yes, the topic most scholars tend to neglect or avoid when writing about their rapture theories.

The coming of the Lord is when the resurrection/rapture occurs.

The coming of the Lord is when the destruction of the antichrist occurs.

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.

1Thessalonians 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

Civil rights for gays is only a small part of it as there are many signs we are told to watch out for and some of us want to know what they are. It's your choice if you do not want to see them, but many of us want to see and help prepare others so they are not overtaken and their house broken up, Matthew 24:32-51.

Im glad that you are a student of the word.
Thats a very fine thing.
So, here is the final sign, .....that will usher in, as a sign, your Savior.
You should study this with the same passion you have studied the "rapture".

Your new testament says that there is one specific sign that all Christians are to REALIZE, that shows them just how close Jesus is to calling us home and coming back.
This scripture
"So in the days of Noe (Noah).
Found in Luke 17 and Matt 24.

It looks to me like you're trying to add in part of a dual-prophecy that was already partially fulfilled after the fall of Alexander the great. The kingdom of Greece divided up into 4 parts. The little horn was Antiochus Epiphanes, who serves as a type of the one who will come at the time of the end. But the number of days should not be factored into the end-time prophecy. I try to steer clear of having too many puzzle pieces, some of which may go to other puzzles, because this only leads to confusion. Just my opinion.

It always amuses me that it seems like everyone has a different interpretation of Revelation. When these things do happen, we'll all probably say, "wow, I never thought it would be that way."
Funny, I said almost the same exact thing in my book, that major biblical prophecies are usually fulfilled in ways that most of us aren't expecting. We need to take care that we have all of the puzzle pieces on one hand. But on the other, make sure we don't include other puzzle pieces that don't belong, which can distort the big picture. Nice observation, Chopper!

The coming of the Lord is when the resurrection/rapture occurs.

The coming of the Lord is when the destruction of the antichrist occurs.
There are two comings. The first is known as His appearing, when He comes in the clouds to gather His elect (Matt. 24:31). The second is His second coming, when He comes to judge the nations (Matt. 25:31).

2 Timothy 4:1 - "I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;"
