The airport director knows me and the fb page knows that I have photos. I never violated any trespass areas when I photographed that.they can see me taking them.they have told me I missed a water meter when I first read the piper route.I have to ask permission to enter into the compound to get a demand read.

You've gotten to know a lot of people on the various routes. Those connections could surely come in handy :thumbsup

Eric menger,is a 30 navy vet.he is part of the veterans council.he connected via fb before I joined that.his dad ran the sign company of mentee signs. It's likely he saw my posts of the airport from airport north,'s tarmac.I photo graphed the tower from. There and also ww2 relics.btw the diesel plant is on itself a survey marker.it has a bench mark on its roof.

1.5 years. I started this thread because of my job. I didn't like it and this makes it more interesting I already have a photo from todays route(2 actually) to post. me thinks I stumbled upon more ww2 stuff. btw much of my time at lewis was in ww2 era stuff. Madigan army hospital, the original one, is such a place.

Wow those are cool pics. I didn't realize that is what your avatar was.
I took it at night. I must photo its progress. I have also big blue to hit up at night and will do that first. that will be a challenge given how artificial light is with my camera. my avatar is black and white with miminal light and a vanilla filter to get it close to what little light it has. was photographing it from over the fence. I have images of this during the day from the same angles. I usually will shoot this one and big blue from the same spots. it makes it easy given I cant, save that one where I am in the compound. photo them.

If inaccuracies, did they really sell the motors to 3rd world countries?
yes, they did do that. the time frame I mention about the black out. the remaining turbine is in my more recent photos. I have gotten close to that when it was removed it is two stories tall. its the smaller of those. the noreborg looks smaller and appears to be a 60s style. ironically given big blue went online in 61 with unit one, a cng boiler, this plant was still useful then and wasn't decommissioned until 1994. unit 5 of big blue was supposed to enable vero beach electric to decommission this plant and for some reason after 1985 they didn't. they did have to use it in 1989. big blue and all power plants must have the ability to cold start. the diesel plant had a compressed air system that started one of the units. possibly the remaining turbine. its foundation is gone. if I post the older photos I can point it out. its in the video barely. the plant also had tanks in the ground and also a dirt floor.

That's a big turbine, pretty cool you've seen it.

Sorry I left earlier, my dad wanted me to help him with something.
