John 5:24 "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.
1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.
Salvation means, we understand how to love and we now have passed from death unto life.

As it is written, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven
given among men, whereby we must be saved. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..."
Is is something absolute or relative? Both
Can the definition of it change? Nope, hasn't in 35 years, and it just keeps getting better as the Word becomes more Alive!

I do. I can't speak for "we" (all others). If you'd have posted your knowledge of salvation, I could have evaluated your reasoning.

Heck, if you'd been a wee little man living in early 1st Century Jerusalem, "salvation" could have literally stayed with you at your house.
Luke 19:5, 9 (LEB) When Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, “Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he, too, is a son of Abraham.
Or if you'd have been a devout man of God living in Jerusalem at that time, you could have literally seen "salvation" with your own eyes:
Luke 2:30 For my eyes have seen Your salvation,
Or if you'd have truly known the Scriptures at that time, you'd have been looking for salvation to visit were Abraham was prepared to sacrificed Issac.

It shouldn't. But cultures have a way of changing word definitions over time. Thus, dictionaries have to change too.
Take salvation, for example. Even though the Biblical definition is to regard Jesus Christ as salvation, it's changed over time to the point of confusion for many.

Salvation is being saved from Gods wrath.
Salvation means to be whole mind, body and soul as we surrender our will to God and allow his will to work in our lives by applying Gods word to every aspect of our lives. This allows us to know the mind of Christ and all the promises of God for our own well being so we can face anything that tries to come against us while here on this earth so we can triumph and be victorious through the grace and mercy of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Grace pardons us and mercy loves us unconditionally.

Salvation is a one time event.
Its not a process of getting to the end, if you can keep it.
Many are confused about this, and because they are, their Christianity is not a joy, its a burden of making sure you __________.
And these types want to share their self righteousness with you, in the form of denying OSAS.
Ignore them, but if possible help them back into the Light of God's grace, as they have fallen from it.
Now, If you can understand that the second you (have faith to believe) led of the Holy Spirit, that at this second God accepts your faith, redeems you, and you no longer are your own.
This is an instant and completed operation of the Holy Spirit.
Its not a process, its a BIRTH.
= You've become God's, and you cant undo this, as its not faith any longer that has anything to do with your eternal end result, but rather its God who...."God who began a good work in you (Christ in you) (Salvation) (Born Again), will be faithful to complete it".
That is, the God who accepted you based on your faith, now keeps you for eternity as HIS OWN = according to His power, mercy, blood atonement, and grace.
This is why once this has happened to you, then the end result of your faith being accepted is eternal life, and God's righteousness being applied to you is why you are forever SAVED.
He does it all for you as a GIFT, = after He accepts your faith.
Subsequent to this, you are to be a good follower of Christ, a good disciple, a sincere doer of the word, .....not to maintain your salvation, as you can't maintain what God Himself can only provide and maintain, but rather you do the good works BECAUSE you are saved.

I was not trying to turn this into yet another "loss" vs "earn" debate.
I want to see what everyone who posts on here thinks "Salvation" is. Maybe its more for my own understanding as to why people believe what they do, but I am also truly interested in finding out what people actually think.
Its been enlightening so far.

Salvation is being saved from Gods wrath of Hell, Fire, & Brimstone because we first put them under the LAW to Judge them to Hell before we then offer them Salvation?

Here is my rather unorthodox, non academic view of salvation.
I am saved
I am being saved
I will be saved.
FOR me, I don't have to worry about my eternal fate because I know where I am going.
I don't have to worry about my current state because I know that whatever happens either good or bad, I'm not alone and I'll get through it.
I don't have to worry about my past because it has shaped who I am today.

In order to have salvation...you need to be saved from something.
Typically salvation refers to being saved from God wrath through the blood of Christ.
I'm sure there are several other nuances of the word we can discuss or apply.

Romans 2:5 - 11 tells us we store up wrath for ourselves. In other words, God doesn't send us to Hell , we send ourselves.
So, what does God save us from? Perhaps he saves us from ourselves.
If we look at the whole of scripture, God is in the business of transformation. In other words, we used to lie but now we tell the truth. We used to steal, but now we work and give to those in need. Yes, when we have faith that the way of Jesus is the best way to live, we no longer conform to this world and we are transformed. Some would call this sanctification.
When we sin Against our neighbor, there is a price to pay. When we learn what it means to love our neighbor and we live it out, then we no longer sin against our neighbor, and we are saved from the wrath we store up against ourselves. On some cases, we are saved from road rage, or getting shot, or brutally injured. Yes, we are saved fro. These types of calamities by Jesus because we obeyed the Holy Spirit who guided us through it.

You are confused. Salvation is a noun, not a verb. Nouns don't have tenses. In this case it's a noun based on the outcome, result or completion of the verb "to save".
"to destruct" (verb) - destruction (noun).
"to redeem" (verb) - redemption (noun)
Etc.
But here's what an expert on the Greek grammar of what our Lord God said in the 1st Century (what you call "NT writings", which Peter and the rest of us calls NT Scripture but you also are confused over and refuse to call Scripture):
Mark 5:34 (YLT) and he said to her, `Daughter, thy faith hath saved thee; go away in peace, and be whole from thy plague.'
Here the verb saved (perfect tense)
"is in the perfect - the saving is complete - it happened in the past and is now being viewed as completed, giving rise to the state of salvation"
Salvation is the noun form of the perfectly completed action.
